This weekend, Botswana made history, a proud moment for the blue, black, and white.
To every nation, athlete, official, and guest at the World Relays, thank you for making this a celebration of excellence, unity, and the human spirit.
To Batswana, thank you for filling the stadium with energy and pride, supporting not only our own but every competitor on the track. The atmosphere lived in every cheer, every anthem, every baton passed, and every breath before the gun.
Excellence demands discipline, sacrifice, and belief. This moment showed what is possible when we unite behind a shared vision.
To all athletes, coaches, teams, volunteers, media, and organizers, thank you for delivering a moment of national pride.
This is proof, Botswana can dream boldly, build confidently, and rise together in our New Botswana.

The nation found its voice
Our athletes ran with courage, with endurance that would not bend. They met the moment and carried the nation with them, stride for stride.
And in the stands...North, south ,grand stand and of course Panda, Batswana answered. In numbers, in spirit, in pride. You lifted the stage, you gave it Life, you made the world take notice
Day one has said enough, let’s come back tomorrow in numbers and bring the same spirit. Re tsamaela gone koo.

This Saturday, we gathered in the spirit of unity and purpose at the historic launch of the first ever Bible translated into the Khwedam language in Tovera Village. This moment stands as a powerful testament to who we are as a nation-diverse, inclusive, and deeply rooted in the richness of our cultural heritage.
The preservation and elevation of indigenous languages is more than tradition; it is a declaration of identity, dignity, and belonging. Together, we celebrate this milestone as a step forward in nation building, one that strengthens our shared pride and reminds us that our diversity is our greatest strength.
I was deeply touched by the warmth and hospitality of the people of Tovera. Their songs and dances carry the heartbeat of a proud community, and I was honored to join in. While I may not yet rival their rhythm, I gave it my all and I trust they will agree, I held my own.

I extend my warmest wishes to Batswana for a blessed and peaceful Easter Holiday. This sacred time calls upon us to pause and reflect on the profound sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ, whose love and selflessness granted us renewal, hope, and a second chance at life.
May His crucifixion remind us of the values we are called to embody compassion, humility, forgiveness, and grace in our daily interactions. Let us embrace this moment to strengthen the bonds that unite us as families, communities, and as a proud nation. In doing so, we reaffirm our shared commitment to peace, love, and mutual respect, reflecting God's light in every life we encounter.
As we travel across our country during these holidays, let us also uphold the highest regard for one another's safety. I urge all drivers to act with responsibility, patience, and care so that each of us may reach our destination safely and return to those who matter most.
Together, let us move forward in unity and purpose, inspired by faith and guided by hope, as we continue building a stronger, more compassionate Botswana for all.

Yesterday I visited Ditec Group at their facility within the Botswana Digital Innovation Hub. It was inspiring to see technology being assembled right here in Botswana. Teams are integrating components sourced globally and turning them into finished products ready for markets across Africa and beyond.
Ditec calls itself “dreamers with deadlines.” After seeing the work on the ground, the phrase makes perfect sense. Engineers, technicians, and young professionals are building, testing, and refining technology with real commercial ambition.
This kind of enterprise aligns strongly with the priorities of the Botswana Economic Transformation Programme (BETP). Innovation, manufacturing capability, export potential, and skills development are exactly what we must scale.
Government stands ready to facilitate and enable. The talent is here. The ideas are here. Enterprises like Ditec show what becomes possible when innovation meets execution.

It was a proud morning yesterday at Marulamantsi Primary School as we celebrated the 2025 Standard Seven cohort’s outstanding 97.7% pass rate in their first Primary School Leaving Examination, ranking first among government schools in Gaborone.
The result is a product of discipline, committed teachers, supportive parents and focused learners. For a school established just two years ago, this achievement sets a powerful benchmark.
I was encouraged by the school’s forward looking approach, introducing robotics and artificial intelligence at primary level, while ensuring inclusion through the integration of special education learners.
Botswana’s future will be built on the knowledge, skills and character of our young people. These learners are our renewable wealth.
Congratulations to the entire Marulamantsi community. Let excellence remain your habit.
