For over 85 years, the Greenville Museum of Art has been the heart of arts and culture in Eastern NC! Our journey began in a downtown storefront in 1939, moved to the historic Flanagan House in the 1960s, and expanded with our West Wing Galleries in the 1990s.
Today, we are proud to be an AAM-accredited institution featuring a growing permanent collection and a dedicated Center for Art Education.

Artist of the Month β
May's Artist of the Month is Carissa Lopez! Carissa Lopez is a Honduran artist born in North Carolina, specializing in hyperrealistic graphite and charcoal portraiture. Her work centers on the complexity of human emotion. By stripping away color, she allows raw emotion and form to speak for themselves to create a vulnerable encounter between the viewer and the subject. By focusing on every detail, she captures these quiet narratives with precision and invites audiences to connect deeply with the unspoken stories her portraits reveal.
Stop by the Museum during May to view Carissa's artwork in the West Hallway!
