Employee Recognition Day earlier this week was an afternoon to remember! Employees from divisions across the Department of Administration were treated to lunch, good music, and good company. On behalf of Secretary Esparza and the entire DOA team, we are so grateful for the hard work and many contributions of our colleagues. Don’t forget to check out open positions if you’re interested in joining the DOA family 😉: https://bit.ly/47yCKSj

Today, U.S. and NC flags across the state will fly at half-staff in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day. Of this special day, Gov. Stein said: "We ask law enforcement officers to run toward danger when the rest of us might flee, and today we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe. We owe them a debt that we can never adequately repay, but we can offer them and their families our praise and gratitude – and to value the profession like it deserves.” We honor fallen law enforcement officers like Police Officer Roger Smith, Investigator William "Alden" Elliott, Police Officer Joshua Eyer, and Investigator Samuel Poloche.

Governor Josh Stein ordered all U.S. and North Carolina flags at state facilities to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday, May 15 in honor of National Peace Officers Memorial Day. Each year on May 15, this special day recognizes the many men and women of law enforcement who lost their lives or were injured in the line of duty.
