While the current standard of care treatment for metastatic breast cancer has significantly improved people's outcomes, relapse and treatment resistance may still occur. That’s why TREAT is a core pillar of NBCF’s Pink Horizon Research Strategy. NBCF-funded researcher Professor Geoffrey Lindeman and his team at @WEHI_research aim to test new drugs that target a cancer survival protein that helps metastatic Estrogen Receptor Positive (ER+) cancer cells stay alive. These new drugs have already shown promise in blood cancers, and now they’re being re-purposed for breast cancer treatment. The ultimate goal is to move this research into a clinical trial for people with metastatic ER+ breast cancer, which could potentially open up new treatment options and improve survival. This is the future of treatment – safer, targeted and more effective. 💗 Find out more here - link in bio

💗 Pink Hero of the Month: Aria 💗 This month, we’re shining a very bright pink spotlight on Aria. She’s 10 years old and already changing lives. Inspired by her Aunty Ana’s breast cancer journey, Aria decided to take action. One moment stayed with her most: watching her aunty lose her hair during treatment. It was confronting but it also showed Aria just how brave someone can be when facing something frightening. That courage became the spark for her own💪 With the support of her school and local community, Aria shaved her hair and raised an incredible $4,102 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation helping to fund world-class breast cancer research. Her message to anyone thinking about fundraising? “Be brave and ask your community to share. When you are cutting your hair, think of the reason you are doing it so you are less scared.” Aria is proof that you’re never too young to make a powerful impact 💖 Her kindness brings us one step closer to Zero Deaths from breast cancer. To mark Mother’s Day tomorrow, we’re holding space for every experience of motherhood 💗 For some, the day is full of celebration. For others, it’s quieter and shaped by reflection, memory, gratitude or grief. Today, we acknowledge all the ways motherhood shows up in our community: • those who are mothers • those caring for loved ones during or after treatment • those remembering a mum they’ve lost • mother figures, carers and grandparents who step into that role If Mother’s Day feels joyful, heavy or somewhere in between – you’re not alone. We see you, we honour you, and we remain committed to a future where fewer families lose a loved one to breast cancer. 💗 #MothersDay #ForEveryMother #NBCF

As the most common cancer among women in Australia, breast cancer is affecting more Australians than ever. Today, the campaign is giving a special shout out to amazing project sponsor the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) who say; “We are proud to be part of Conquering Breast Cancer, a powerful new impact film coming to cinemas nationwide this June. The film shines a light on the urgent need to prevent, detect, and treat one of Australia’s most common cancers highlighting the progress made and the work still to be done to ensure that no more Australians lose their lives to this disease.” We’re looking for passionate film promoters to help spread the word in their local communities by encouraging friends, family and networks to attend a screening. Message us to get involved 💗 @conqueringcancer #zerodeaths #breastcancerawareness

Just For Mum. Last Friday, we welcomed our community to our annual Mother’s Day High Tea, presented by Jo Malone London, at our Elizabeth Street flagship in Sydney. Across two sittings, we hosted over 200 guests including customers, creators and friends of David Jones, coming together to mark the occasion. We were honoured to open with Dr Cleola Anderiesz, CEO of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, a partner of David Jones for over 30 years. Hosted by friend of David Jones Renee Bargh, the panel featured Lauren Sams, AFR Deputy Editor and breast cancer survivor, Sarah Perkins, General Manager of Jo Malone London, Cherie Field and Czarina Deldio, NBCF Ambassadors and breast cancer survivors, and Megan Gale. More than a gathering, it was a moment of reflection. Stories of motherhood were shared with honesty and strength, including powerful insights from two breast cancer survivors navigating life as mothers through their journeys. PS: swipe at the end for a surprise

✨One week to go until this year's @mothersdayclassicaus ✨ This is Chloe's story. "Confession: I am absolutely not a runner. Never have been. Never will be. As a kid at the Mother’s Day Classic, I was the red faced 9-year-old barely making it to the finish line. But every year, I showed up. Because even then, I knew it mattered. These days, my family and I proudly walk. Recently, Mum, my sister and I completed the Sydney 10km walk, raising funds in honour of my grandma, Rosemarie. From the pink seas of people to the stories worn on shirts, the Mother’s Day Classic is more than a race. It’s remembrance, celebration and hope - all moving together towards Zero Deaths from breast cancer." If you’re thinking about signing up, take this as your sign 💗 Walk it. Run it. Do it your way. Know your normal 💗 Breast cancer can affect anyone – regardless of age or gender. That’s why breast awareness is important for all of us. Being breast aware means understanding what’s normal for you. There’s no right or wrong way to do it – just ensure you pay attention to your breasts during everyday moments like showering, getting dressed or applying moisturiser. 🔍 Pay attention to changes such as: • a lump or swelling that wasn’t there before • changes in breast size, shape, or the look and feel of the skin • nipple changes or discharge that’s unexpected • swelling or tenderness in the armpit or near the collarbone • persistent or unusual breast or nipple pain Most changes won’t be cancer, but if something feels different or concerning, don’t ignore it. Seeing a health professional can give you peace of mind. #KnowYourNormal #BreastAwareness #NBCF
