Over the weekend, Coach Tom attended the 2026 ORCA Awards, hosted by our friends at ISCA. This event shines a light on the people who continue to build our sport at the grass roots level across the country and the Age Group Swimmers version of the Golden Goggles.
Willa and Jude were both nominated for Age Group Swimmer of the Year (13yrs). Congrats on the nominations!!
Jude ended up being voted as Age Group Swimmer of the Year (for 13yr olds). Big shout out to Jude!
Every swimmerâs journey usually starts with an age group coach who sees their potential.
Through our partnership with the American Swimming Coaches Association, we are proud to honor leaders like Tom Himes, whose influence extends well beyond results.
From mentoring a young Michael Phelps to shaping countless swimming journeys, his legacy lives in the swimmers he inspired. Thatâs what the Age Group Coach of the Year Award stands for.
Not just performance, but patience. Vision. Lifelong impact.
Weâre excited to find out who will be named the next Age Group Coach of the Year! Coaches are vital in developing future leaders and those with the potential to become legends in our sport. @ascaswimming@nbac1968
