Happy Birthday to our wonderful Rosa Rosita who is 17 today!!!
Really can't believe she is 17... what a beautiful, amazing, strong dog she is.
Today is all about Rosa ❤️
Checking out a new trail for Lenny. It was lizard 🦎 central. He was happy off the lead but mesmerised with all the lizards I put him back on and we trotted back happily together... or we would have been out all week 🤣
Last week Rosa had surgery to remove a nasty ulcerated lump on her leg.
We'd been managing it for months, but it was starting to irritate her, growing quickly and bleeding more often. After speaking with the vet and surgeon about all the options, we decided it needed to be removed before it became infected or caused bigger problems.
It's been months of worry and stress, followed by a day of surgery nerves. Thankfully, Rosa passed her cardiac checks with flying colours and the surgery went really well.
She was a little woozy afterwards, but before long she was back to gently trotting around as if nothing had happened.
At nearly 17 years old, she continues to amaze us every single day. Her resilience, her spirit, and her determination is truly amazing ❤️
Quite soon Rosa will be 17... She had some bloods taken last week and the results were actually better than the last set last October 🙄.
She still gets in to mischief and still plays when she wants to.
There's not much walking for her now with the arthritis in her back and hips, but when she feels good she just trots along enjoying sniffing every bit of dog wee and grass along the way.
Everyday is special with her ❤️
Nearly 3 weeks since Lenny joined our family... He's settling in nicely, and both Rosa and Pica have realised he's now part of the pack. Lots of adventures already and snuggles with the girls. I think he's happy with his new life ❤️
Meet little Lenny. Our new family member. He's about a year old from southern Spain. After a long journey from Spain, he arrived last night and is settling in well ❤️
Holiday vibes... an easy chilled day after a day of travel before the next part of the journey.
Rosa decided the grass was more comfortable than her bed and Pica was preoccupied watching the chickens and goats ❤️
🍂 Nothing much going on here — just enjoying these autumn days. Cooler temps, a bit of sunshine, keeping things simple and easy. Some running, some cycling, some hiking… maybe I’ll be ready for a race next year 😉
