Na današnjoj svečanoj primopredaji komandne dužnosti u NATO Štabu Sarajevo, brigadni general James Fowler preuzeo je dužnost komandanta od brigadnog generala Matthewa Valasa.
Svečanost primopredaje predvodio je admiral George Wikoff, komandant Komande združenih savezničkih snaga u Napulju, koji je istakao dugogodišnje partnerstvo s Bosnom i Hercegovinom i trajnu posvećenost NATO-a miru, stabilnosti i sigurnosti u regionu.
💬 "Već 20 godina NATO Štab Sarajevo predstavlja oličenje te praktične saradnje“, kazao je admiral Wikoff tokom ceremonije.
Primopredaja komandne dužnosti označava nastavak misije NATO Štaba Sarajevo u podršci reformi sektora odbrane i sigurnosti i saradnje s institucijama i partnerima širom 🇧🇦Bosne i Hercegovine.

At today's NATO Headquarters Sarajevo Change of Command Ceremony, Brigadier General James Fowler assumed command from Brigadier General Matthew Valas.
The ceremony was presided over by Admiral George Wikoff, Commander of @jfc_naples , who highlighted NATO's enduring partnership with Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Alliance's continued commitment to peace, stability, and security in the region.
💬 "For 20 years, @NATO Headquarters Sarajevo has continued to represent the manifestation of this practical cooperation," stated Adm. Wikoff during the ceremony.
The Change of Command marks the continuation of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo's mission in supporting defence
and security sector reform and cooperation with institutions and partners across 🇧🇦Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Tijekom tri dana Mostar je postao mjesto susreta prava, diplomacije i suvremenih međunarodnih izazova.
Kroz panel-rasprave, stručne razgovore i NATO model event sudionici su razmjenjivali znanja, analizirali aktualne geopolitičke teme te razvijali vještine argumentacije, pregovaranja i diplomatske komunikacije.
Program je okupio studente, predstavnike akademske zajednice i stručnjake iz različitih područja te još jednom potvrdio važnost dijaloga i međunarodne suradnje.
Zahvaljujemo svim sudionicima, gostima i partnerima koji su na bilo koji način pridonijeli uspješnoj realizaciji ovogodišnjih "Dana prava i diplomacije 2026."

➡️ Strengthening local capacities for a more effective response to wildfires across 🇧🇦 Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In cooperation with the @ministarstvo_sigurnosti and @oscebih , NATO Headquarters Sarajevo supported the event “Strengthening the Capacities of Municipalities and Cities in Responding to Wildfires through the Use of the NICS System.”
The event brought together civil protection structures, @oruzansnage_bih representatives, and international partners to improve coordination, information-sharing, and emergency response capabilities, with a particular focus on wildfire response and civil-military cooperation.
This initiative is part of continued efforts to build more capable, connected, and resilient emergency response structures across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Our partnership with BiH institutions remains strong, our partnership with EUFOR remains strong. NATO will not allow a security vacuum in BiH, and we respect sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, stated NATO HQ Sarajevo Commander, BG Matthew Valas at today’s Ambassador’s Roundtable at Camp Butmir.
The meeting was co-hosted by the Commander of EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda, in attendance of European Union Ambassador to BiH, H.E. Luigi Soreca and Head of the NATO Political Engagement Support Cell (PESC) in BiH, H.E. Vladimir Vučinić, among other 29 resident and non-resident ambassadors.
Discussions focused on the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the wider regional and global security environment and their potential implications for stability in the country.
Ambassador Vladimir Vučinić, Head of NATO Political Engagement Support Cell met today with Ms Jasna Duraković, Federal Minister of Education and Science.
During the meeting, Ambassador Vučinić emphasized that joint projects, especially those related to countering hybrid threats, increasing resilience, and cybersecurity, will bring additional value, both in the spirit of raising broader awareness among young people and for the benefit of all in 🇧🇦BiH.

➡️ Congratulations to Colonel Imre Szücs on officially assuming the role of Chief of Staff (COS) at NATO Headquarters Sarajevo.
Colonel Szücs took over responsibilities from Colonel Tibor Csipszer, who completed a successful tour in 🇧🇦 Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As Chief of Staff, Colonel Szücs will support NHQSa’s mission by helping lead a diverse multinational staff and advancing NATO’s continued support to defence and security sector reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Treći dan programa obilježio je NATO model event, kroz koji su studenti sudjelovali u simulaciji donošenja odluka unutar međunarodnih sigurnosnih struktura.
Kroz pregovore, diplomatsku komunikaciju i zastupanje stavova država članica, sudionici su razvijali praktične vještine te produbljivali razumijevanje suvremenih međunarodnih odnosa i sigurnosnih izazova.
Program je još jednom potvrdio važnost dijaloga, suradnje i argumentiranoga donošenja odluka u složenom međunarodnom okruženju.

📍Under the auspicies of the NATO Political Engagement Support Cell (PESC) in BiH, Hybrid Warfare Research Institute and Sveučilište u Mostaru - University of Mostar organised the 2nd Mostar Security Forum.
📍Participants and panelists, including Deputy Head PESC Ana Maglajlić, discussed contemporary security challenges, hybrid threats, strategic communications, and strengthening the institutional resilience of society.
📍Opening the Forum, Ambassador Vladimir Vučinić stated that NATO is committed to strengthening the capacities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its resilience, but it is up to #BiH leaders to take responsibility for their actions and decision-making.

Stronger disaster preparedness means safer communities across 🇧🇦 Bosnia and Herzegovina.
From 6–8 May, NATO HQ Sarajevo’s Political-Military Advisory Branch supported a workshop focused on reducing natural disaster risks and strengthening national preparedness.
Organized in partnership with the @ministarstvo_sigurnosti and UNDP, the event brought together government, academia, and civil society—formalizing cooperation on early warning, risk reduction, and disaster response.
By connecting institutions, expertise, and partners 🤝, this initiative is helping build a more resilient and secure 🇧🇦 Bosnia and Herzegovina.
