Today, I wore my Moose Hide pin in solidarity with all those affected by gender-based violence and intimate partner violence. 4 in 10 women in Canada experience this in their lifetime, and for Indigenous women, that rate is three times higher.
I was honoured to mark the day by attending a feast at the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto.
We must do more to prevent this violence. Thank you to Paul and Raven Lacerte for your continued leadership in this vital work.
