‘The Church of the Open Sky’, a feature film I made a few years back.
Like my other films, this project was unsponsored and self-funded, and shot, edited, produced and distributed all on my own.
This is a small creative endeavour from the fringes of the surfing world. My hope is that it may be a film that affirms and celebrates the singular exquisite gift of being alive.
Yours to rent or own on Vimeo and AppleTV. Link in my bio and stories.
Thanks so much for supporting independent surf filmmaking.

Beyond the Break Series featuring surfer, filmmaker & photographer Nathan Oldfield.
“Torren is one of the most beautiful surfers I have ever seen. Ever. Surfing is a feeling thing, not a doing thing. Torren’s surfing is full of beautiful feeling. It is pure inspiration for me.”
Surfrider’s Beyond the Break Series is a social media feature celebrating primarily Australian coastal and ocean creatives — photographers, filmmakers, and artists — who are inspired by the sea. We spotlight a creative and showcase four pieces of their work, sharing their stories, process, and connection to the ocean.
