I have to admit, when I first heard about the drama surrounding Humboldt Bay Social Club, it sounded like typical behind-the-scenes mess. But after experiencing it in person, I see it very differently.
This isn’t just another venue. Nicole has poured her heart, soul, and a tremendous amount of money into transforming this place. She’s handled major infrastructure upgrades, a full electrical retrofit, sky-high insurance premiums, rising utility costs, and a payroll for roughly 10 dedicated people who love this spot and depend on it to support their families.
Beyond the financial investment, she’s created something truly special: a warm, welcoming gem that Humboldt County should be proud to have. With beautiful decor, comfortable spaces, room for all kinds of performances, and areas where artists can create while listening to the ocean and watching some of the county’s most stunning sunsets, it’s a rare find.
For a reasonable price, you can gather with friends and family, cook your own hot dogs, burgers, or oyster kits over a communal fire pit, and actually connect. People talk ideas, share stories, debate politics, and leave feeling a little more human. It’s the kind of place that builds community.
Nicole has turned this property into an incredible venue with real potential to become a lasting part of Humboldt’s cultural fabric. I’m urging everyone to come see it for yourself before it’s too late.
At the end of the day, what matters more? $60,000 in rent, or keeping ten local families employed, preserving a beautiful, well-maintained property in an unbeatable location, and protecting a space that brings people together with almost zero negative impact on neighbors or wildlife?
This place offers so much: cozy overnight rooms with quality linens, a steam sauna, a massage studio, a commercial kitchen, a funky trailer-turned-dinette, outdoor campfire experiences, ample parking, and a location perfectly between Eureka and Arcata. It’s dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and genuinely inclusive.
If you value real community spaces, local jobs, and authentic experiences, please come support Humboldt Bay Social Club.
