Indoor skydiving was a unique rush. Piano bar was tons of fun, with the musicians rotating instruments every couple songs. Then this impeccably dressed fellow sat next to us and even more surprising immediately started singing along to 3 Doors Down’s Kryptonite!
Drove practically to Kansas to salvage fish a drying reservoir. A little startling that it was warm enough, growing up we always had snow before Halloween but Denver hasn’t seen any yet this year… but led to some nice pics and a dozen fish for my mom’s freezer 🎣
Had a truly exceptional dinner at The Counter, sixteen course omakase, with absolutely beautiful dishes and sake like I’ve never had before.
Finished it off helping my mom put up Christmas decorations 🎄

One constant in life: changes ahead.
Back in the early aughts when I was at NYU, I would join my aunt who lives on the UES for Easter service and brunch. In more recent years we’ve established a bit of a new tradition, my mom and I visiting my aunt and her partner at their winter getaway in St Petersburg, FL.
This year the vibe was a little different, one of their good friends is in hospice. They’ve known him for decades, and his passing will trigger some major changes in their community of friends.
My grandma, who lives in Florida with my dad’s sister, is also facing cancer and I was able to spend an evening and morning with them.
This country is going through it too, and being changed by the process. Glad I was able to join a protest.
Through all the changes, though, there are constants that remain: the beauty of nature and the importance of connection to loved ones. Grateful for both.
