Looking forward to watching @cynthiaerivo and @wickedmovie sweep the #oscars tonight… I’ve been a huge fan since seeing a bootleg of her singing “I’m Here” from The Color Purple back in 2017.
Then in 2019 I had the incredible opportunity to work with her on the music video for “Stand Up” from the movie Harriet, and despite singing to the playback I was providing, she sang full force all day and it was note-perfect every take (even dropping a single tear from the same eye, at the same point in the song)!
Her voice, her musical choices, and her performance are simply astounding on everything she’s ever done, and I couldn’t be more excited for her star to rise as it has this year.

This live hit with Sabrina Carpenter happened just Pre-spresso, featuring a bunch of my favorite crew, including @rikemind technical directing (aka switching it up like Nintendo). We shot it with seven cameras synchronized with @ambientrecording Nano and TinyLockits, and performance audio was captured via @audinate Dante stream from the Digico SD Rack to the @sounddevices SD970 with the laptop running DVS as a backup. I think it was around 54 channels of audio plus a few local ambience mic inputs.
Also shoutout to bassist Philip @lowpassphilter who I barely knew at the time but we’ve worked together a bunch since!
I had the immense pleasure of working with the legend himself, @mrchristopherlloyd for this Google Gemini ad. Great Scott!

Thanks to Ibby Ross for the boomin'
Of all the work we do with Fender, this was a particular favorite. Recording @madicunningham is always a dream, but the restriction of using only period-correct microphones on camera was a fun creative layer. Getting to raid the mic locker @eastweststudios certainly made it easier!
One of my absolute favorite live show recordings of the last couple years was this - @dsimmy crushing the Tears for Fears cover at the legendary @thetroubadour theater in West Hollywood with an equally legendary band. Recording and mix by yours truly with video by the master @rikemind .
I had the privilege of working at @eastweststudios with some legends a few weeks ago, and @themerlinshow captured this great pic of me pretending to be important.
One of three new promo spots for ESPN’s “The Captain” featuring Derek Jeter. This one is my favorite of the three, as we had a challenging scene capturing 6 people around the conference table, yelling and arguing mostly improvised dialogue. Huge shout out to @shure Axient Digital wireless, which was crucial here as we were able to deliver the full dynamic range with no limiting at the transmitter (or additional noise floor) as the actors transitioned from talking to shouting unpredictably.
And of course, a massive thanks to Michael Alaynick (@datmicguy ) for his excellent wiring and boom work, after jumping on the production last minute.
