THRILLER
Man, where do I start? I remember watching this music video in elementary school and wanting to dance for Michael so bad. After his passing, I watched the This Is It movie countless times in the back of my mom’s Honda Odyssey. When I received the audition submission, I was still attending physical therapy three times a week while recovering from meniscus repair surgery. I submitted my choreography from LSU’s Smooth Criminal routine that won UDA in 2024—a piece that changed my life with choreography.
At this point in my life, I was still finishing my Masters and was incredibly scared to pursue dance professionally. I put all of my prayers in finding the answer to what direction my life should go. The day after graduating, I went down to Miami to teach and got the call from
@meishh on the drive—nearly crashed my car haha.
The entire experience was life-changing. I got to be in the room with all of my idols and the people I still look up to today. I get to say that this was my first ever job in LA and I got to soak up so much from what was around me—I even got to be
@popinpete for the zombie walk moment!
Thank you
@rtbrothas @mightymykell and
@samosoto for taking a chance on the kid and being legendary leaders. I owe a debt to y’all I won’t ever be able to pay.
