Hey, friends…a little window into my life here. After a yearlong battle with cancer, my best friend Doug passed away late last year. And I miss him dearly.
I obviously can’t adequately summarize everything in this post, but boy, this has been hard. I’ve never cried so much, I’ve never missed someone so much, I’ve never had my world shaken like this before.
Doug was such an amazing friend, husband, father, doctor, and Bears fan. He loved his friends and family so well, he lived a life of adventure, and he served his church and community with all of his heart. He was fun and funny and dedicated and thoughtful and loving. And his hope was in heaven. For all these reasons and more, Doug was my greatest inspiration, a rock that I turned to so many times in my life.
I have a great family and group of friends; I have meaningful community; I have work and creativity that I enjoy; I have a hope beyond this world. My faith and hope are strong. I am being supported as well as I possibly could, and for that, I am so very thankful. And if you’ve sensed a weight in me this past year, or if I haven’t reached out to you in a way that I usually would, I apologize. Thanks for your friendship even in the toughest of times.
Love to you all. Hold your friends and family close, and make the most of every day. And I hope to see you soon.
Well, here we go! Bitconned came out today on Netflix and, once again, I’m so grateful to be a small part of such an amazing team. Fun story, great people, and several years of work and travel and time away from home have all led to this. And my gratitude to @bryan_storkel and @amydoesfunthings for continuing to work with me cannot be measured. Watch this film, everybody! And if you don’t like it, then you obviously have no idea what good art is & I feel sorry for you! Sad!!! Just kidding! You probably have pretty good taste! Anyways, hope you like it…this was a fun one.

Are you sitting down?! I got to fulfill a LIFELONG DREAM OF MINE and visit “Biosphere 2”, the LARGEST CLOSED ECOLOGICAL SYSTEM EVER CONSTRUCTED in Oracle, Arizona today!!! We barely had enough time for a quick visit because we had to catch a flight back to Minnesota later this afternoon but GUESS WHAT!!! It turns out we DIDN’T HAVE ENOUGH TIME for a quick visit because we MISSED OUR FLIGHT HOME and turned our entire evening into a RAGING HELLSCAPE of WORSE CASE SCENARIOS!!! But GUESS WHAT ELSE! The truth is that I DON’T REGRET IT ONE IOTA (iota is the smallest letter in Greek alphabet btw) because I am a LOVER OF SCIENCE AND LEARNING!!! I know I put out a real ALPHA MALE VIBE and you might assume that I HATE LEARNING AND HISTORY but guess what LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING!!! Guess you all learned not to judge a book by its cover today!!! Well anyway I need to go bc our flight is boarding and it’s a red eye back to Minneapolis and I HATE MY LIFE!!! PS: Look up “Biosphere 2” sometime and be prepared to be ENTHRALLED MUCHLY (sounds like not a word but it actually is!) Be blessed!!!
Guess what! I forgot to tell you that Pez Outlaw came out on Netflix today! If you want to watch it, great! If not, it’s not like I spent a year of my life and a bunch of my money and poured my heart & soul into this project or anything! Guess you have better things to do! Anyways, be blessed!
This was my grandma: Alma Lucille Bjork. She lived 99 wonderful years until she passed away last week. And so we buried her yesterday, a day filled with tears and laughter and sadness and joy. So many of the best parts of me are from her, and I am eternally grateful that she was my grandmother, mentor, perpetual lunch date, and friend. Now that she’s gone, I’m going to miss her so much. But she had an unwavering hope that this life was not the end, and that hope guided her all the way home. She finally made it. Godspeed, grandma.
