Another wonderful Drawing The Dance Workshop @nycdrawingthedance - this one in celebration of AANHPI Heritage Month and Mother’s Day for the final pose, with talented performer @a_tan_dance ! I continued exploring using watercolors for gestures… I struggled with confidence this time, but it was a fun experience as always!
At my recent session with @nycdrawingthedance I challenged myself by only bringing my watercolors to do gestures. It was a very new way to capture movement but I think I like it much more than pencils and pens! Thanks to our performer @anne_pb_26 for the talented slow and graceful movements with an Earth Day theme. 🌎🌱
Another great Drawing the Dance Workshop with our super talented performer, @rachelcaronperformer . Today I experimented more with gestures using watercolor pencils.

A couple weeks ago I had a rare opportunity to visit Austin for work! I had a good time, visiting nostalgic places, meeting up with my Texan friends, and meeting some coworkers in person for the first time. Here are a few weird photos I took.
Looking back at 2025. This year had its ups and downs of course, but overall, it turned out to be such an amazing year full of growth and new experiences. I’m thankful for all the wonderful friends and family who are a part of my life today. I’m proud of the journey I’ve taken this year, and hope to fill 2026 with more new adventures!
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to witness the northern lights up close. This was an experience that I’ve dreamed of for years, and when my aunt told me about this tour, the reality suddenly became clear - this was my time to make it happen! I enjoyed learning the science behind the aurora, as well as their spiritual significance.
One of my tour guides shared that some natives see the lights as spirits playing games, and others see them as a thin opening, where our ancestors can look through and peer down upon us. As I stood below the curtains of dancing lights, I nodded to those we’ve lost in this world, and the lights began to dance with the most brilliant colors of green, pink and white before they faded again into a haze.
Some scenic moments from my trip to Alaska. I will never forget the soft pastel colors of the sky and the way the spruce trees hold piles of snow like frosting. There is a silent stillness, and the bite of freezing air that is humbling.
Alaska Journey, Day 7 (part 2) - Dog sledding was so much fun and the dogs are so sweet! I rode with 10 dogs that averaged 15mph. Our guide explained that with 15mph wind chill factored in, we were riding in about -58°, which can freeze flesh in only 1 minute–thankfully, I wore many layers. For those who may be worried: just like some dogs love playing fetch, these dogs LIVE for running and pulling sleds every day. They were so excited to get out on the snow they were running in circles begging to be chosen. The dogs are not forced by any means… on the contrary they are held back!
Alaska Journey, Day 7 (part 1) - We began our final day with Santa and we chatted about whether he thinks he could stand shirtless under the UAF sign at 40 below. We then took a nice hike through the woods on our way to dog sledding! (see part 2…)
