Photo coverage of the Anguilla Day Sailing Race in the Caribbean last year for @belmond Annually on May 30th locals race North Atlantic inspired handcrafted wooden sailboats around Anguilla Island to celebrate their national Independence Day. I got to photograph the race and beach celebration afterwards. The Belmond sponsored boat and crew placed 3rd. Thx for having me @belmondcapjuluca @angelinazeppieri

I shot and landed my first White Sea Bass a few weeks ago with the pals. What a feeling. Josh, Collin and I did a trip off Gallia last year targeting this species only. 3 days spent diving kelp beds, only coming aboard to eat and sleep. Must’ve pulled the anchor 25 times that trip. On the last day after seeing nothing we gave up and lucked out with a few halibut instead. This year we tried again and things went differently. We got lucky with a big school and all landed fish within 20 minutes of one another on day 1. We grilled the collars, made ceviche and suddenly didn’t know what to do with ourselves for the next two days with a maxed out freezer. We kept diving and had some seriously good hangs. Since being home I haven’t stopped thinking about sea bass and how I could make the sail boat a little less awkward for dive trips. 1st photo of me by @josh.fish with my water camera 4th photo by @meggiestewie with my deck camera

Island hopping in Fiji with @losdoscaptainscook on their sailboat. They are truly living the dream and they let me in on their tropical program for 12 days back in November. We surfed, sailed, slugged Kava with locals and caught no fish. Cloudbreak is mentioned however footage reflects an undisclosed mysto right somewhere within the Blue Lagoon Archipelago. Team sea forager in full effect. On demand seafood with the pals. The best is when everyone participates to harvest within their skill set from the beautiful cruising grounds we take Gallia through. You work up a big appetite when diving which brings a ravenous nature to indulging in the feast. Digging in with pruned fingers & salty lips sometimes still suited and dripping just hits different. I’m always impressed by the speed of which things can happen with more hands on deck. It takes many hours to harvest and prepare a meal when it’s just Meg and I. Several times on this trip I was handed decorated morsels on chips right as I got back to the boat from diving. Benifits of bringing the friends out… My favorite way to enjoy some fresh ceviche is with a good crew of homies.

Last summer on our way back home to California from Alaska I took 3k of my fishing money and bought this 82 diesel Vanagon. A result of scrolling marketplace on our off days while fishing. Smog exempt in California and I figured it’d make for a nice roadtrip down the 1. Also, 3k? I had to. We hopped off a plane in Seattle, picked her up, found some rims and better tires from a auto shop near by, hit the Lowe’s parking lot and built a quick mattress platform. Snagged a mattress from Craigslist and took the rear seats and old tires to the dump and boom #vanlife. She’s a hazard on the freeway. 55mph max. Hugged the coast nice and slow. Even floated her on the beach in Oregon and met Paul who helped us dig her out and talked about his good old days rolling around in one of these. Stoked to be back in the old VW community and get attention from all the old heads who talk shop at the gas stations and surf lots. Impressed by only one minor break down on the way home which was my fault. Was planning to sell it here in CA but I think I‘ll keep er for a while. Breakdowns happening more frequently since I’ve been home but what can you expect… sick van.
