💬 Have you ever wanted to peer into the lives unfolding around you? To catch a glimpse of the childhood next door or the gentle rhythm of a friend’s morning walk through Fish Creek Park?
Four Strong Seasons begins in the longing.
Inspired directly from the real, shared stories of Calgarians, this immersive devised vignette gathers fragments of Calgary and lets them breathe between bodies in a fictional tale of familiar Albertan characters. Four Strong Seasons is an ode to the quiet beauty between hardships, the lives of the people in our city and the natural landscapes that inspire us towards a brighter future. Join us in this story of the people whose lives quietly weave the fabric of our city.
👉🏽 Performances in Motel Theatre are TICKETED, with limited seating - paid and free options available. Head to DOWNSTAGE.CA to LEARN MORE and GET YOUR TICKETS.

Officially introducing The Memorias Collective! An Alberta based multi-disciplinary collective creating devised and design-driven work in Calgary.
Previous works you may have seen from us are:
Memorias de Luz — 2024 Ignite Festival (Sage Theatre)

Perhaps you’ve also seen us storygathering throughout the city or come across one of our story submission mailboxes at a local cafe! Community outreach is a big part of our creation approach and upcoming productions!
To building worlds and falling in love with new parks in the city ✨ Thank you for the opportunities to learn, patience as I grow and trust in my capabilities
💥FLUX IN THE CITY team member shout out!💥
Today we’re highlighting Natalia Cortes: our sound designer for Flux in the City!
Natalia is a Colombian-Canadian designer, devisor and all-around theatre artist whose creative practice centers around community inspired theatrical work. In recent years she has worked with companies such as Chromatic Theatre, The River Clyde Pageant, Sage Theatre and Theatre Gargantua.
Natalia’s heart of the city is Fish Creek Park:
“I fell in love with wildgrass, multi-coloured sunsets, adventuring and the rolling hills of Alberta frequenting Fish Creek Park throughout my life. Looking back, the natural parks in the city have often been the backdrop for my most cherished memories with loved ones.”
Flux in the City runs January 22-25 as part of this year’s High Performance Rodeo!

Magic is real! I felt it every step of the way in the creating and sharing of this piece ✨
Collecting, reading and interpreting cherished memories from the people in our community.. collaborating with humans that I love, all equally intent in creating something meaningful.. sharing our work with dear friends and family… What a wonderful feeling it is to be reminded with such compelling proof that we are far from being alone.
Getting to share the magic of theatre with the people I love most has been one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had 💛 Izzy, Vicky, Jason, Taylor and Andres, thank you for your love, artistry, commitment and friendship. Thank you to everyone who came out. Thank you to Sage Theatre and Jason Mehmel for believing in our show concept (I’m so grateful you did)! To more projects like this one! My love.
🎶 I am alive, I am alive and I'm ready, ah I'm ready for the day 🎶
Lots of love to go around these days. Nature walks, long talks, creating with new pals, a gal couldn’t get more blessed!
Special thanks to Elaine for being a fearless creative spirit/leader and The Old Trouts for providing a space that has inspired so much in me. All good things ☺️
