The foundation all the influencers are promoting & why it’s not worth the hype I chose sheer coverage, radiant finish suitable for dry skin. AI technology did the colour matching 1. At first swipe the colour match looked good but when I applied a full face my skin looked ashy & lifeless 2. Sheer coverage was very sheer - it didn’t even out my skin tone & cover was very patchy 3. Radiance was sadly lacking - compared to my usual tint my skin looked flat & lifeless 4. I expected the formula to be hydrating but it was really quite odd. It looked powdery but felt greasy & took hours to dry down 5. It transferred onto the neck of my sweatshirt - first time in decades I’d had that issue In my line of work I need to understand skin prep & how that can impact a foundations performance so I used a different moisturiser in my second test just in case - the result was still bad At almost £40 it’s an investment and fortunately @dcypherbeauty have a 14 money back offer which I’ve taken advantage of. The idea is great in theory & using AI technology seems a fab way to take the pain out of colour matching for most people. However, I think the technology doesn’t replace a professional’s experienced eye & take into account all the nuances that exist in someone’s skin tone which is why my colour match was off What do you think? Even when our work is done we silently slip into other roles; drying your flowers, helping you dress, removing your labels, all without direction, requests or a need for gratitude Yes you’ll remember how we made you feel on your wedding day but our hands aren’t the ones you need in your photos on your wedding day, that honour belongs to your mum, your sister or your daughter. So please don’t be offended if we refuse to pretend to button your dress. LET’S CHAT BRIDAL SKIN If there’s one recommendation I can make that can really accelerate the condition of your skin it’s this - an LED mask There are lots on the market so it gets a bit overwhelming trying to decide what to go for & of course price points vary significantly. Let me share my thoughts & my key decision points. My non negotiables: flexible not rigid so I can use it in different areas, I only needed the anti ageing function, good level of infra red & near infra red, positive reviews on efficacy I have done lots of research - tons & kept getting swayed by influencers etc who were backing both current body & shark. I dispensed shark straight away, it’s rigid, I didn’t need the eye cooling & it’s pretty big. Current body met most of my criteria but I wasn’t sure the price tag would justify the results. Then I came across @stylpro_uk . They have a reputation for stripping back unnecessary elements & producing cheaper dupes of high end products. Then I found multiple reviews by dermatologists who essentially stated that the extra investment didn’t yield significantly better results. Black Friday sales hit & I found the stylpro mask was available for under £70 so I decided to take the plunge I’ve been using it consistently for 3 weeks & this is what I’ve noticed ❤️ lines around eyes when static have gone ❤️ forehead lines & 11’s noticeably reduced ❤️ skin tone is more even, clear & brighter ❤️ skin feels more hydrated & firmer ❤️ reduction in puffiness ❤️ really easy to use ❤️ very relaxing ☹️ 5hrs for recharging the battery ☹️ fastener has to be pulled tight to stay in position which creates dents in my skin Also an extra benefit for me has been help for my seasonal allergies. One of the best self investments I made last year was buying a Space NK advent calendar Almost 9 months later and I’ve yet to use it all up. DARK CIRCLES BE GONE Finally after years I’ve found the combination that works perfectly for me to disguise my dark circles My dark circles are a combination of medication, genetics, wearing glasses & being tired. Add pigmentation into the mix & skin that’s changing over time & it’s been a problem for years Even with my skill & knowledge I’ve struggled to find something that not only works but lasts I mix a bit of these 2 products on the back of my hand where the heat from my skin warms them making them easier to apply. Then using a dense concealer brush I push the product into the bristles before applying If you have fine lines or wrinkles around the eyes, the fluidity of this @hourglasscosmetics airbrush vanish concealer is perfect for providing coverage whilst still looking like skin @narsissist radiant creamy colour corrector is slightly more dense than the hourglass & mixing the 2 together means I can adjust the blend for days when I need either more or less help Is it a faff? Not really.
