“As the driving creative force behind her namesake firm, Natalie Officer is first and foremost a storyteller: “the narrator, the interpreter, and the voice that allows clients’ stories to be expressed with clarity and beauty.” Natalie leads a team of three designers who approach each project with the same narrative-driven perspective. With more than 25 years of combined experience across fashion and design, the studio brings an earnest and fresh approach to its work.
Her collected experiences in Chicago, New York, and London developed a point of view shaped by curiosity, travel, and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. Her work thrives on textiles, texture, and unexpected details, while spotlighting skilled makers and artists. The studio’s projects span residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, and workplace environments, each guided by the same attention to story, material, and place.
Working closely together, Officer and team create custom lighting, art installations, and original textile and tile patterns that reflect both global influences and local craft traditions. Custom furniture is realized through
@ora.house.furniture House, which Officer co-founded with Daniel Chaffin and releases semiannual collections featuring their designs alongside new pieces from a carefully selected trio of regional makers who share their modern aesthetic. Across all these endeavors, their collaborative process and shared passion for design, travel, and culture inform spaces that feel layered, thoughtful, and personal.
NOD has carved out a distinctive niche that blends creativity with craftsmanship—often favoring renovations that bring warmth and new life to existing spaces. The studio’s work has been published in Dwell, Aspire Design and Home, Sophisticated Living, and Apartment Therapy, among others.”
