James Earl Jones (January 17, 1931 β September 9, 2024)
Rest in peace to this legendary actor who has left a last imprint across many generations. He's played iconic roles and voiced some of the most memorable characters in cinema history. He also starred alongside many legendary actors and actresses. Much can be said about him, but his body of work speaks for itself. We will hear his voice for an eternity. Rest well, sir.
Here are some of my favorite James Earl Jones roles. The voice of Darth Varth is his most iconic, but he was so much more, which says a lot about him.
1. "The Great White Hope" (1970) as Jack Jefferson (A biography of legendary box Jack Johnson.
2. "The Meteor Man" (1993) [his many wigs and sacrificing those Billy Holiday records]
3. "Coming to America" (1989) [pictured with Mage Sinclair, RIP]
4. "The Lion King" (1994) [Voice of Musfa and with Mage Sinclair who voiced Sarabi]
5. "The Greatest" (1977) as Malcolm X [pictured with Muhammad Ali, RIP]
6. "Claudine" (1974) [pictured with Diahann Carroll, RIP]
7. "A Piece of the Action" (1977)
8. "The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings" (1976)
9. "The Comedians" (1967) [One of his earliest film roles]
10. "Conan the Barbarian" (1982) as Thulsa Doom [arguably one of the most vicious villains in a movie] π
