8 years in the making 🥹
A dream of mine, long ago, was to match my Dads top 3 half marathon times. After 8 long years of running, I did it.
Consistency and discipline is what I’ve learnt to love about the sport of running.
Now to chase his best PB and take another 3 minutes off this 🏃♀️
Back to work 📋

A new training block begins 👀
Might be the shortest training block ever to exist but here we go!
Hawkes Bay, here we come! 🏃♀️

Marathon recovery week 🧘♀️
What have I done this week? Not a lot!
I’ve been for 2 walks, 2 Pilates classes and attended park run.
This week I’ve been focusing on rest, and consuming lots of calories to fuel my recovery.
I’m not about going straight back into it after a big effort. I need a little time to rest 💤
In saying that, I have Hawkes Bay half next weekend. Watch this space 👀

✨ Redemption at Rotorua was a success ✨
My goals for Rotorua were:
🔹 Get to the start line not injured ✔️
🔹 Run the whole time ✔️
🔹 Sub 4 ✔️
I went into this training block the hope of never saying “I have to go for a run”. I wanted to want to run and to have fun during the process.
With a less structured plan I gave myself the freedom to run how I wanted to, and when it best fit around life.
Big shout out to my long run buddy @katherine_bain for our missions together
I was not prepared for starting in 3 degrees 🥶 I have asthma so my heart rate shot up, and stayed up for a loooong time. I remember at the half way point, just how cold my thumbs were and being so excited when I could get out of a shade - not something you think often when running.
I felt strong on the hills. I had practiced hills this time around. “Run the gorge Nat”. After the big hill, the next checkpoint is the airport. Boy that airport took forever to get to.
Then, the wall came and I had to dig in. I had banked enough time to slow down and keep moving as best I could. I had to want it. And I wanted sub 4. So after trying and failing to do math, with 1.2k to go, I decided to push. My pace dropped from 6:40 to 5 min in that final km.
Time to ring the PB bell, collapse on the grass, and struggle to walk to the car.
Thank you everyone who’s been on this journey with me.
Next up, Hawkes Bay half in 2 weeks 🤝

Number 802 signing in 🏃♀️
Arguably, the expo is the best part of racing.
Or should it be second to the actual race 🤔
Tough decision there
Let’s goooooo 🔥🏃♀️‼️✨👑
Ever thought packing for a run would be easy? Think again 💡
Here is everything I need on me, to get me through 42.2km on Saturday morning 😱
These are all things I’ve been testing over the past year and know they work for me and my body 🏃♀️
Long run friends, you’ll notice I’ve got my exact same outfit ready to go. My shorts don’t ride up, my socks don’t rub and nothing bothers me. It’s perfect for me 🫶
I’d love to know what your long run essentials are ✨
2️⃣ days to go!
