One of my favorite spring dates is a stroll through one of NYs botanical gardens, which is completely free if you have a library card! (To note, if you go to Brooklyns botanical garden, you need a Brooklyn library card).
As usual, I’ve been inspired by another creator to present my work this way- I’ll tag them in the caption so you can check out their work too, because the art of noticing things is a wonderful way to draw inspiration from any corner you get to lay your eyes on. It’s always the little things we take for granted that tend to hold so much meaning.

For the first time in a long time, I got behind my own lens & photographed myself to see myself. Often times, as a woman we’re perceived from of everyone’s lens besides our own, & often times, our value not only to ourselves but to others is determined by how attractive we are in someone else’s eyes.
This project was a chamber of reflection for me to reflect on myself- to see me in the many iterations of a woman I can be: unboxed, unlimited but also noting that there are many versions of me that most won’t experience unless I allow it. This serves as a reminder that only have the authority to dictate how I’m seen and how I see myself, & having that satisfaction, no matter what anyone else thinks…means the world to me.
Thank you @thistleandspire for these stunning pieces that gave me room to explore the many different versions of myself.
Chat soon,
xoxo

Still one of my favorite moments from last year as a photographer, & understandably so. Thank you @essence & @akili_ for having me in the room, & for all the lovely models that gave me the time to photograph them.

Grateful that my first shoot of the year was to document black women during Black History Month for @clairolcolor
I’ll be posting more of my work this year since I can’t hide it anymore!
Before anything, I want yall to be aware of this: the biggest reason I was in this room was because a black woman believed in me and gave me the space to create.
Being in this room, on this day, with legends @patmcgrathreal & @jawaraw as leads for hair and makeup for one of the most anticipated shows of the year…gave me chills. One thing I always say to myself and others is the importance of being able to witness things. Anything really, but specifically things that inspire you.
What an honor it was to share space with so many folks who were legends in their craft. This experience paid me more than money ever could.
