The best design isn’t always what you see first. It’s the feeling you get when you walk into a space. It’s how it flows. How it makes people interact, stay longer, come back. If you’re keen to dive into more conversations like this, comment “DESIGN” for direct access to all episodes to date. One thing I took from this conversation with @nasimkoerting (@merivale Design Director) is how much of that comes down to the details you don’t immediately notice. And also… how your role as a designer (and manager) evolves as you grow and so does your team. At a certain level, it’s no longer just about the design itself. It’s about leading people, making decisions at scale, and creating environments that work for so many different experiences at once. It’s a shift that a lot of designers aspire to, but don’t always see the full picture of. This episode with Nasim is such an honest look into that. Landing Thursday, April 16th on all platforms.

Comment "Merivale" and I will personally send you a link to the full episode. Sometimes one phone call can change everything. After nearly a decade building her career in London, @nasimkoerting received a call that would bring her back to Australia, from Justin Hemmes. What followed was the opportunity to help build an in-house design team at @merivale , shaping some of Sydney’s most iconic hospitality spaces.
