Since they were little, I’ve called them “mierditas” (my little shits 💩💩). They absolutely deserve the nickname. My greatest award. I never knew you could love this much until I met them, my nephews. I miss them every hour.

The most fun I had a decade ago was taking a 24-hour ferry from Cannes to Tunisia. For three weeks I traveled everywhere, by bike, bus, dromedary, and boat. I remember gigantic, empty beach resorts; listening to people talk about their deep post–Arab Spring spleen; and thinking I was losing my mind in the desert.
That’s all I remember from that year, because who fucking cares anyway. Mostly, I like the first pic. It was rotting on Facebook.
