When I first started my business, I asked my bestie to come with me to a boba shop one night to help me brainstorm brand names and logos.
All we had to work with were a pen and napkin provided by the boba shop.
Four years later the business has rebranded to Narrative Hues and we’re celebrating with a fresh napkin and pen.
This time I’ll scribble down my dreams for Narrative Hues 4 years from now.

Today I got this notification in my inbox. Then I teared up during my morning workout as it dawned on me that in just 3 months I’m getting married to someone who knows me to my core, loves me despite my shortcomings, and desires to spend the rest of his life with me. My best friend and greatest gift from God 🥲

I continue to be amazed by the wonderful community we have, and the sweetest customers-turned-planner-friends I meet at conferences like this; feeling so grateful. I’ll continue to share content on my adventures this weekend through IG story + highlights.
Did I know?
No. It could’ve happened at any time. He added multiple events into our shared calendar, each one being another opportunity to play dress up.
Was I sus?
Yes. My dad called me while I was getting ready (he never calls), and all he asked was, “What are you doing today?” Suspicious, I asked, “I’m wondering if Ryan might propose today…Has he talked to you yet?” And his stuttered response, “I don’t kn-I don’t-I don’t kn-I don’t know.”
The resolve?
Maybe I’m too blunt for my own good, and Ryan knows me well and in this case played it against me. During our date, I asked, “…Is it today?” His response changed everything: “If it were today, would I be this calm?”
Ah, the best scenario for anyone planning to propose: When your girlfriend is suspicious and you convince her she is being paranoid. Gaslighting at its finest.
I’ve thought about this for a while now, but there really are no words that will do this day, this moment, justice. How did he get everything down to the T? The location, the time, the setup, the people, the song? I felt so known, so seen, so held.

As some of you know, about a month ago I shared that I was accepted into the top-ranked online MBA program. It was a dream come true for me because I worked so hard to submit everything given only a 1.5-week timeframe.
About two weeks after I accepted my offer to grad school (still processing through that), my then-boyfriend proposed to me and I said yes! It was soooo magical. My now-fiancé got all of my friends in on the surprise and showed me all his spreadsheets afterwards (still processing through this too). RIght now, all I can say is that I am so happy and filled with gratitude for my community.
2023 has been a year of so many transitions and changes. After much time thinking and reflecting, I’ve come to understand and accept that although I can do anything, I can’t do everything. Because of this, I’ve decided that in order to set myself up for success for school and all the transitions coming in 2024, I need to take an indefinite break from Narrative Hues.
✨What does this mean for Narrative Hues?
As you know, graduate education with a full-time job can be very demanding. I definitely can’t work full-time + continue business + do grad school + wedding plan all at once.
By the end of March 2024, new releases and subscriptions will be paused indefinitely. The shop will still remain open, just no new product releases so I can focus on schooling.
But friends!! I’m not going anywhere!! I will continue to be on Instagram sharing my journey through business school and getting my MBA.
This End of Year Sale will be the last big sale we have in a while as I will not be able to be as present going forward. Subscriptions will remain running until the end of March 2024. With that being said...
