小野さんは、Darkroom B5のプリンターの一人で、月に一度のワークショップで講師をして頂いています。元TCKのチーフプリンターとして50年以上のキャリアを持ち、アナログ写真文化を深く経験されてきた方です。これまでに多くの人々にカラープリントの魅力を伝えてきました。そのカラープリントに関する慧眼は今もご健在。

“The work is an attempt to capture the character of each neighborhood by cropping a single photograph into multiple parts, which together create an abstracted sense of place. Even without revealing the full image, the resulting series allows the atmosphere, temperature, and tone of the neighborhood to emerge, much like how each visitor experiences a place differently.
Each “master image” is shot on medium-format film at a location that embodies the character of the neighborhood: the neon glow of Ebisu at night, the quiet of Shibuya in the early morning, the balance of greenery and architecture around Sangubashi Station, and so on. Walking through the streets in search of the right location and angle, and later placing a rectangular mask over each photograph to explore compositions, the two acts feel curiously similar.
As a small detail, the coordinates of where each image was taken are noted on the photographs.”

アートは、それぞれのネイバーフッドの特徴（色味、質感、密度など）を捉えるため、一枚の写真を複数の断片に分解し、街の感覚を抽象的に立ち上げる試み。全体像は見えなくても、連なるイメージを通して、その街の空気感や温度、姿勢が感じられるものとしている。街とは、訪れる人それぞれに異なる体験や感じ方があるように。
各「全体像」は、その街らしさを体現する場所で、中判フィルムを用いて撮影している。夜の恵比寿のネオン、早朝の渋谷の静けさ、参宮橋駅周辺の緑と人工物のバランスなど。街を練り歩きちょうど良い場所やアングルを探すのと、各写真に四角いマスクを置いて構図を探るプロセスは、不思議と似ていて、どこか釣りにも似た感覚がある。
ささやかな要素として、各写真には撮影地点の座標を記している。
