I’ve been fortunate to have documented @kaitlinbutts & @cletocordero on stage & off stage going on 6 years this year. On Saturday night at @theryman I feel like I captured my favorite images of them ever. Kait had just surprised Cleto and joined in for “A Life Where We Work Out”. As the lights faded to black and the band played their last notes of the song, the love was present as they took a moment to acknowledge one another. Very honored to have been able to document this moment. Hopefully one day, these images find their way into a frame on a wall in the mother church.
The thing I’ve learned about documenting live shows over this time is that there is a difference between forcing the moment or just simply being present and taking yourself out of it. In the moment you realize you can become the vessel from a moment to camera. Time freezes. It allows you to take what’s in front of you and tell it for what it is. Nothing more and nothing less.

On The #WanderingStarTour with @flatlandcavalry and we made a stop at the historic @theraveusa . Been a joy to see packed rooms in new cities we’ve never been to. Blessing to capture it & be out with the Cavalry! Y’all get out to a show on this tour, ya don’t wanna miss it! 💫

The last year was something out of a dream. I wish I could truly put it all into words, but I feel its impact on me. I carry the places I’ve been in my mind. I carry the love and kindness others have spread with me in my heart. I know life is short. It’s also long. The nights where you just feel like you’ve melted into the stars after watching them for hours. The moments where the days feel like they drag on and you get to experience new things with your people. This year affirmed that putting your heart into things and loving what you do makes a difference.
This ramble has been rambled so many times. I guess truly what I want to say is live fearlessly. Tell your friends, family, & homies that you love them. Do things intentionally. Stop wasting your time doing things that bring you no joy or fulfillment. Step outside and feel the sun on your face, let the warmth remind you that you are here now and may not be here tomorrow.
Birthdays make me feel weird and kind of down, but this year feels different. I can recall most nights that my heart was filled with an abundance of love and gratitude. I would find a moment of solitude and just speak out loud to the big man upstairs and thank Him. Today is also one of those nights. Thanks for the love and the words. Truly appreciate every single one of y’all. The biggest joy of life is knowing you can cultivate kindness and community. Sure am thankful for it. Cheers to 28! 🙏🏽
