My father @carlospachecodecastro was recently invited on a podcast to recount his time as “Chef de Village” (Resort Manager) at Club Med. I grew up all over the world because of it, and I’m incredibly grateful. He met my wonderful mother @donnapachecode while working and they got engaged underwater in 1985. I’m not kidding (photo 2). It was a job he was born for, a legend among guests and coworkers. He gave it up to work in the corporate office so he could support us growing up in one place (Florida, ew). It’s a sacrifice I’ll never forget. My parents are special people and I’m lucky to have them.
I never continued this series but it’s fun to rediscover old work. This was before I started collage. Called it “The Last Whatever” because I couldn’t be bothered to come up with something clever.
