Nancy’s memorial bench was installed today. It is located at Eader Park, near our home. Our children played in the old playground, and the soccer field in the background was where Jevon held practices for dozens of our children’s teams. If you sit on the bench, off to the left you can see the twin palms of our house. About 4 yards away, some children have drawn in chalk on the pavement. Nancy would be happy with that, I think.
This upcoming weekend, the Hadley family will be hosting a celebration of life for Nancy. If you are interested in attending, please reach out via DM to this account or text Jevon directly.
From the page that chronicled Nancy’s journey, written with love by her husband Jevon on Tuesday night, and shared by her family-
“Good evening. Nancy passed away this evening shortly before 8pm, surrounded by our children, her sister Sue, and me. Her day today was much easier than the last six; her pain was under control, and we spent the day talking to her, singing to her, and reading messages of your kindness and love to her.
We covered her bed in rose petals, and watched over her until she drifted quietly away.
I am grateful that she chose me, and for the life we built together.
All day, as I watched and held her hand, I had this poem in my mind, from the Black Marigolds:
Even now
I know that I have savoured the hot taste of life
Lifting green cups and gold at the great feast.
Just for a small and a forgotten time
I have had full in my eyes from off my girl
The whitest pouring of eternal light
I am bereft.”
Continue to seek out art, beauty, humor, joy, humor, and kindness in yourselves, in your lives, and in the world around you. It is what Nancy wants for you.
When you take a cool dress, a cool setting and a beautiful daughter great photos can happen. From June of 2022. I love my Larkspur.

I loved doing a gravity pour of the sweet Bob Ross and Pea Pod. Though I haven’t had the same energy to express my creativity, I’m having fun revisiting projects I did in the past! Oh and one of my 2022 paintings made it into an art show! I’ll share details when the studio does.

Can’t say I miss set fatigue. But I do miss all the wonderful people who have been willing to make up such incredible art teams like this one for a pilot shot several months back. Throwing it back.

Happy Monday! I took a screenshot of some of the animal portraits I’ve painted over the last 2 years or so and found it is a great motivator to start painting again. It’s been about 4 months since I’ve brushed acrylic paint on canvas and produced my version of a beloved pet. Today I’m getting back in my painting saddle and starting small. I’ll try to Timelapse the process. Stay tuned.

Trying to decide if this gravity painting will become a collage or stand alone in its intense vibrancy. What do you think?

Got to visit a giant rabbit today. Just in time for the approach of Easter. And I got to get out and about with my daughter. It was a good day!
