My name is Tuomas Grönvall. I’m a 31-year-old professional MMA fighter and a proud dog dad from Helsinki – and my nickname is “The Tank Engine” for a reason.
I represent 03 Fight Team and Kilo Jiu-Jitsu.
Strong wrestling and a dangerous jiu-jitsu game are key parts of my arsenal. My fighting style is simple: take my opponent down, shut the lights off, or serve him a clean fist to the mouth. My biggest strengths as a fighter are relentless cardio and raw power.
I started MMA back in 2009, and turned professional in 2012. After my third pro fight, life threw some obstacles in my way. I went through a tough injury period, with my lower back being the main issue. That led to more than a five-year break from competition.
In 2018, I made my comeback — and since then I’ve competed in multiple organizations, including PFL, Bellator, and Cage Warriors.
When there’s a fight opportunity, I take it. I’ve stepped up many times on short notice. This time the call came unusually early — but the mindset stays the same.
If there’s an opponent offer, the answer is yes. No hand-picking. No hesitation.
This June, I’m leaving everything in the cage — and I’m coming to shut the lights off.

Hi! I’m Tyson Nam. Born and raised on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. I am a UFC veteran that has fought all around the world. Brazil, Russia, Kazahkstan, Canada, Mexico City, New Zealand, Japan, and Finland.
I started training mixed martial arts as a hobby because I enjoyed watching 80s and 90s action movies. Bloodsport, Kickboxer, and the Rocky movie series were some of my favorites.
I currently train striking under Legacy Muay Thai with Ivan Flores and grappling under Gracie Technics with Rylan Lizares. They are the coaches of the world famous Max Holloway. I am honored to be under their tutelage.
I have been a competitive athlete since the age of 6. Competition is what motivates and drives me to be better everyday. I love hearing the cheers of the fans, and even the boooos! It’s like music to my ears. So when you see me step into the cage, make some noise!
