It is 4am, a time when most people are sound asleep, yet I find myself preparing for an early morning hair and makeup appointment with a bridal client scheduled at 5am in Thika, a location that is precisely one hour away from me, I'm accompanied by my in-laws, who are also joining me on this journey. We share a meaningful experience as we travel towards the bridal venue. One thing about me… I’ve always carried motherhood with me through every stage of my career.
When my babies were little and breastfeeding, they came with me to appointments. Clients watched me balance makeup brushes, baby bags, feeds, naps and deadlines all at once 😭
So, while learning live from the incredibly talented @bhumikabahlofficial , it was time for the kids to eat and I quickly started cooking for them during live class, while continuing to learn — I was balancing growth and motherhood at the same time ✨
At the end she smiled and said: “Aaisha… you’re so inspiring, I love you. I feel like going home and cooking for my child today.” 🥹
Hearing this from someone I admire so much genuinely touched my heart.
And she didn’t stop there. She continued speaking to the students about motherhood, families, passion, hard work and balance while praising me in a way that genuinely left me speechless. It was one of those rare moments that touches your heart so deeply, you can’t even fully explain it in words.
Sometimes we think we’re “just managing” motherhood and work… but someone else sees strength, love and dedication in it.
A reminder that being a mother never took the artist out of me — it became part of the artist I am today ✨
