What a season- heading into the winter with a knee surgery expecting to not be able to ride.. then, turn of events, being able to ride “carefully” after some time and rehab. We all know how hard that is to moderate! It’s hard taking it easy, not being able to push yourself physically, let alone the mental battles. However, with having time off/a chiller season, I’ve gained even more appreciation for the mountains and the sport. I feel so grateful I was able to board at all and I know how hard it is to sit back and watch the season go by. I’m so stoked of the direction women’s snowboarding is headed, and am taken back by the series of backcountry and park events showcased this year where women are supporting and pushing other women. I’m really proud of ALL my board gals for their talent, passion and contributions to these events and the community! Here’s a pow turn where I’m feeling myself the most this season in the backcountry. I grew up riding ice and handrails on a ski hill with 250ft of vert. Never did I imagine I’d be living out west and riding world class terrain…all while perusing a pizza delivery career and attending dental school. Aside from the undeniable beauty of the mountains, the memories created, and the friendships grown, experiencing the backcountry allowed me to view snowboarding differently. It’s allowed me to push myself physically, overcome fears, and cope with anxiety. Nothing beats the rush of dropping into a line and surfing a nature built theme park. ❄️ However, this isn’t all that attainable for many women..It involves venturing from the norm, a solid set of skills, knowledge and confidence. My goal is to inspire other females whatever age to push through their fears, overcome mental challenges and know that it’s okay to not succeed right away, or maybe ever. Attending @sistersummit_ with a like minded community would help me gain more skills and knowledge to inspire other females to pursue experiences in the backcountry safely and confidently. By pushing myself to be the best rider I can be, I hope to be a role model to anyone that is nervous to do something different or is doubting their abilities, and other women who want to push their limits in the mountains! 🤍 #SisterSummit2.0 #RookieRevelstoke23 #womeninbackcountry

My heart is so FULL from today! 🩷 I absolutely love spending time with the @shredcatz crew who put on such an amazing event for female and non-binary riders to progress their riding and support each other. All the ladies brought so much stoke and energy and the best vibes 💃🏼 Although it’s strange to not be boarding, I’m so grateful to spend my time with this crew and hang with some of my close riding gals 🥰

Thankful for the homies with sleds to get me out into the mountains without a functional knee 😍 so tough to not be tempted to ride out here ❄️

This snow season looks a little different for me…unfortunately, after having a full on knee surgery I have to sit this one out. This was a much needed week of resetting and doing nothing. 🩷 Looking forward to coming back to the snow, even if I can just look at it ❄️
