It is not controversial to say that, at times, political, solidarity, and social movements have succeeded in marginally transforming this capitalist system of oppression and domination.
Let's be honest, this remains rare. Even within so-called "western democracies". Replacing a handful of career politicians with others from the same schools, same social background/class, frequenting the same restaurants, from the same Bourgeois classes is merely an illusion, good only for false magazines and mainstream media narrative, which contribute to capitalist alienation.
In other words, let's recognize that struggles employing a variety of tactics, including armed struggle, can succeed more often then non violent. Recent history illustrates this: Cuba, Nicaragua, Ireland, Algeria, Vietnam, etc. Without radical resistance, none of these struggles could have succeeded.
Anti-authoritarian, decolonial militant movements have succeeded here and there, temporarily, in liberating areas, countries and establishing positive social changes, as in Rojava.
In reality, the debate between non-violence and political violence is the ability of militant movements to achieve victory.
Conclusion. The proponents of absolute non-violence have never managed to prove or demonstrate by example, other than marginally, that resorting to violence against an illegitimate, authoritarian authority that abuses its prerogatives and powers and violates the rights of individuals would be "ineffective." The history of social, political, and decolonial struggles demonstrates the absolute opposite.

Berlin authorities banned realistic or symbolic portrayals of executions, in the context of protests against the death penalty against Palestinian hostages by the Israeli government.
In the context of a pro Iran monarchy gathering it seems to be no problem for the police.
Die Kampagne „Kufiyas in Buchenwald“, getragen von Jüdinnen, Kommunist:innen und pro-palästinensischen Organisationen, kritisiert die deutsche Erinnerungspolitik als entpolitisiert und ausgrenzend. Nachdem der Aktivistin Anna 2025 der Zutritt zur Gedenkstätte wegen einer Kufiya verweigert wurde und auch eine Mahnwache am 12. April 2026 verboten blieb, versammelten sich jüdische Aktivist:innen dennoch spontan vor Ort und forderten, dass Erinnerung auch die aktuelle Situation in Gaza sowie die Verantwortung Deutschlands thematisieren muss. Im Interview betonen Anna und Tair, dass der „Schwur von Buchenwald“ zum aktiven Kampf gegen Faschismus, Krieg und Unterdrückung verpflichtet – nicht nur historisch, sondern auch heute. Die Kampagne stellt damit die Verbindung zwischen Vergangenheit und Gegenwart her und kritisiert insbesondere die deutsche „Staatsräson“, die Kritik delegitimiert und Proteste kriminalisiert, während sie gleichzeitig die Frage aufwirft, welche Konsequenzen aus der Geschichte gezogen werden.
