Nabiha Palestina

Since we opened Nabiha in September of 2024, countless patrons have come into our sister restaurant, El Secreto de Rosita, not knowing that both restaurants are connected. Most of the time, the response is one of deep support, solidarity and genuine excitement over being able to try both cuisines, hummus and ceviche with maqlouba and lomo saltado. Unfortunately, we have also had guests outright shocked, who express discomfort, and walk out refusing to support us. Bizarre, as one quick look at our socials makes our unwavering commitment to center Palestinian dignity and humanity in times of genocide extremely clear. This week we had patrons perform a hateful act by ripping up our Nabiha cards on their way out. In the past, we’ve had passersby set fire to our front terrace, and even knock down signs of stories of Palestinians in Gaza during our Saturday markets. What a shame that Palestinians existing and uplifting their culture causes human beings to regress to child-like and undignified behaviors such as this… Both Nabiha and Secreto are proudly part of the DC Apartheid-Free pledge/campaign which encourages small businesses in the area to vocally stand against all forms of racism, bigotry and oppression, including against racist discrimination, Islamophobia, Antisemitism and xenophobia in our own communities. And we will continue to be proud no matter the cost… get triggered ✌️🇵🇸❤️

Nabiha Palestina is more than a restaurant. It’s a home for memory, culture, and dignity in the heart of DC. A place where Palestinians are seen, heard, and humanized through food, presence, and community. Keeping these doors open means protecting a living space of truth, care, and shared humanity.
