March can sometimes be a bit inbetweeny for us, but we had all sorts going on. Last week the café turned 2! Here are some pics of the journey. We’ve made countless coffees, bakes & lunches but it’s all the people that make it. For Suzie Bliss and Milly Wilson of @n5kitchen kitchen, Materially Better means feeding people well with meals made to be shared. Whether it’s hundreds of breakfasts heading out to film crews, a tray of still-warm bakes on the café counter, or a team lunch of leftovers (not that they taste like leftovers!) they’re drawn to what’s honest, nourishing and made with care.⁠ ⁠ As they put it, “the day doesn’t really start until we’ve packed up breakfast and had a cup of tea.” The truest morning ritual for two people who begin long before sunrise.⁠ ⁠ From cycling across North London on lime bikes at ungodly hours, to running trays between the kitchen and the café, their days move fast — anchored by teamwork and the simple pleasure of feeding people well.
