Worked with @redbullsnow alongside @knut_eliassen and a crew of very capable degenerates this week in Norway on the Red Bull Features Cup.
When I first got looped in, I had no idea what this thing would actually look like in the real world. We built a format, @mushroomcrew went full mad scientist on the setup, and the riders showed up and turned it into something way better than any of us could’ve planned.
It had that shiny-new-event energy where it’s equal parts chaos and lightning strike moments. The kind of week where you’re not totally sure what’s happening, but you know it’s working.
Shoutout to the team captains @lukewinkelmann , @coolwakushima , and @marcuskleveland for assembling absolute squads and somehow keeping the whole thing pointed in the right direction.

Bronx native Joenelvy Ferreras. Most people knew him as Pluto.
Hearing he passed away got me thinking about the way certain people attach themselves to snowboarding like static electricity. Pluto had that. An infectious need to be around it. In it. Part of it. He had gravity. If you stayed in snowboarding long enough, Pluto would eventually find you.
I never met anyone quite like Pluto before. That kind of thing sounds cliché when you say it out loud, but in his case it felt accurate. He had this unreliable way of sticking with you. A conversation, a laugh, some half chaotic moment that would resurface later and remind you he passed through.
I took these on a roll of film in Norway last May.

Today we celebrate the birth of @vixavage . Victoria has taught me a whole bunch since we met. Card games. Growing up in California 101. Proper grooming and dress techniques. Holding your breath going under bridges. But most importantly, she’s taught me that growing up doesn’t have to mean tightening the screws on joy. That you can be an adult with responsibilities and still protect the part of yourself that wants to play. I’m also happy to admit she’s the perfect recipient for my endless stream of jokes that probably didn’t need to reach anyone’s ears. I love you so much. Oh also you are hot as all heck and when people see us together they probably think you are humoring me or your cousin or something. Xoxoxooxoxoxox 🥰😘
