Act 3:  Mercury Rises Named after the element, she has seen me grow from an 18 year old finally wanting to feel music in his hands, to someone who can orchestrate it and make people feel! I turn 23 this year, and I have accomplished more than what I've dreamed of. I dedicate my all to my instruments. My bass, Mercury, and my beloved SP-404 MKII. Music has been my passion since I was too scared to say it out loud to anyone. I knew what my path was since I was a child, and I have never deterred from it, and I will never. I stand before you as a proud musician. This is what I'll be pursuing, along with being a published poet with other avenues. I'm my own wildest dream. I've fantasized about having my own music group, and we'd take over the music industry, but I thought that I wouldn't find it. A lot of the artists I was around didn't sound like me, and I eventually gave up on that dream. I thought I'd be on my own until I met my brothers in steel, and the dream came back to me tenfold. A year ago, I named my group Damascus Steel,  and we have created a realm of music and art that has developed each and every one of us. They would say I've grown the most, but I truly owe it to them. Act 2: Academia Through all the stress and time spent on reading, writing daily essays, screenplays, and poetry, I have truly understood what it means to be a student of your craft. I have learned hard and yet valuable lessons and teachings that I will forever carry with me. I use these lessons as material. In 2 days I will be graduating from the Illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in English, with a concentration in Creative Writing. President of Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society Theta Xi Chapter. To my classmates who are truly close friends of mine, I'm glad we've had each other's backs for so long, and may we continue to throughout our lives. We are the new modern writers. I celebrate you all. Thank you to my most favorite professors in the English Department. I consider you all family. Every laugh came with long conversations that I left with knowledge, great advice, and a brighter day. I have appreciated how every class I have taken was connected with one another, showing me how history impacts us daily. History that many refuse to recognize nor even know to begin with. With me, people will not ignore it. As I progress in life, you all will see more of my capabilities, and my sharpened skill because of the 4 years I have spent here. This past weekend makes me overly emotional, and it probably always will! If you know me, you know that this has been a lonnnggg time coming. It takes so much patience, time, and dedication to pour every ounce of my being into my music. To be so good behind closed doors, sitting with an internal knowing that whatever i envision for myself will come to life tenfold, no matter how long it takes. Knowing that I'm not like other artists, knowing that my music will be felt amongst the many. I've sat with this knowing by myself when no one was watching, but I don't have to do that anymore. There's so many people who believe in me, I know there is no way I could ever fail. This show gave me the greatest gift I could have ever asked for. Meeting my brother @uppastdark for the first time after knowing him for 7 years is an experience like no other. Thank you so much for being by my side throughout it all. Your support means the world to me. Thank you to @westsideultra for your generous hospitality🙏🏾 I felt like I had a home in TX , and I will always be grateful to you for that.
