What a couple of weeks! We’ve been in Birmingham at two major national conferences, first at the Association of British Neurologists Conference, and then at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) event, both incredible opportunities to connect with professionals shaping the future of care. Across both events, alongside colleagues at Association of British Neurologists and Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, our team at myaware have been working tirelessly to raise awareness of myasthenia, share knowledge, and spark meaningful conversations. And what a response it’s been. A huge thank you to everyone we met, spoke with, laughed with, and even cried with along the way. The interest, openness, and genuine care shown for people living with myasthenia has been incredibly moving. Here’s a snapshot of the impact: 📄3000 leaflets and awareness materials shared 👩‍⚕️2000+ neurologists, medical professionals, students, and resident doctors engaged ⚕ 450+ myasthenia medical packs distributed 🕚300 hours of awareness raising 🗨 280+ hours of conversations about myasthenia 💤 6 tired team members 🥅 1 shared goal... ...raising awareness for those affected by myasthenia 💜 We’ll be sharing more over the coming weeks as we reflect and build towards MAM 2026. We’ll leave you with a quote from our very own Tracey: “To meet so many people that care about people like us, who want to learn more and who asked how they can better support us was both heartwarming and overwhelming, I felt honoured to be a part of it on behalf of all our members!” #myasthenia #MG #LEMS #CMS #myastheniagravis #RCPCH #ABN #associationofbritishneurologists #raredisease #rarediseaseawareness #neurology #MAM2026

Meet Dani After being diagnosed with myasthenia last year and facing an incredibly challenging journey of treatment, surgery and recovery, Dani is now taking on an amazing personal challenge: 300 Miles in May 👟✨ Throughout May, Dani will be walking an average of 10 miles a day to raise funds and awareness for myaware. Despite the difficult moments she has faced, Dani says she now feels grateful to be able to stay active, embrace life, and celebrate what her body can do. Her story is a powerful reminder of resilience, strength, and making the most of every step, We’re so proud to have Dani fundraising for myaware and supporting others in the myasthenia community. You can read more about Dani's story here: JustGiving: /page/danielle-tobias-12 Facebook Page: /danielle.davies.16/ Good luck, Dani — we’ll be cheering you on every mile of the way! #TeamMyaware #MyastheniaAwareness #FundraisingChallenge #300MilesInMay

We’re thrilled to announce an exciting new fundraising partnership between Myaware and the Ranglers 7s rugby team! The team was formed by one of our members, Lucy, and they will be fundraising for Myaware at tournaments throughout the season. Their first tournament at the Petersfield Pub 7s went amazingly well — the team won both the social competition and the “Jerry Hicks Trophy” for Best Shirt Design! Even more importantly, the day helped raise awareness of myasthenia. Several people came over to ask about the condition and the charity, and the club chairman invited Lucy to give a short speech during the awards presentation. Watch this space for updates from upcoming tournaments! Lucy is also planning more exciting fundraising opportunities, including sponsorship of the Ranglers 7s and donations from their kit sales. A huge thank you to Lucy and the Ranglers 7s for your incredible support!

We’re still here in Birmingham and continuing our work to support families and raise awareness of myasthenia. This week, we’re especially proud to be attending the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) event, a key gathering for professionals dedicated to improving child health and care across the UK. The RCPCH brings together clinicians, researchers, and charities to share knowledge, shape best practice, and improve outcomes for children and young people living with health conditions. Representing us are the lovely Jackie and Suz, flying the flag for all things myaware. They’ll be sharing information about our work, raising awareness of myastenia, and connecting with professionals across the sector. We’re looking forward to being part of the conversation and continuing to make sure our community is heard where it matters most. #RCPCH #myasthenia #kidswithmg #MG #LEMS #CMS #myastheniagravis #raredisease #kidswithraredisease #neuromuscularconditions #myaware

Sunday Success at #ABN2026 🌟 What a week it’s been in Birmingham at the Association of British Neurologists Conference! It’s been a really successful and productive few days for the whole Myaware team, and we wanted to take a moment to recognise Charlotte, Grant and Tracey, who have been flying the Myaware flag throughout the conference. They’ve worked tirelessly this week, advocating for people living with Myasthenia, engaging with the latest research, supporting conversations with clinicians and researchers, and continuing to ensure strong operational delivery, and member support back at home. They have absolutely done us proud. Behind every update, every conversation and every bit of progress is a huge amount of dedication that often goes unseen and this week really highlighted that. So on this Sunday, we want to ask you too: 💬 What have you done this week that you’re proud of? Big or small, we’d love to hear it 👇 #ABN2026 #myasthenia #MG #LEMS #CMS #myastheniagravis #raredisease #MAM2026

This week we’re lucky enough to be at the Association of British Neurologists (ABN) Annual Conference in Birmingham, where we’re proud to be flying the flag for our organisation and staying right up to date with the latest in neurology research and practice. We’ve got a brilliant team representing us this year: Charlotte Carpenter, Research and Partnerships Manager Tracy Maitland, Professional Support Services Manager Grant Carpenter, Head of IT and Digital Communications They’ll be sharing insights, learning from leading experts, and helping us bring back the latest developments to support our community. We were also really pleased to meet Dr Sui H. Wong at the conference. Dr Wong is a Neurologist and Neuro-Ophthalmologist and has previously had research funded by us. We’re also really looking forward to welcoming her in June for Myasthenia Awareness Month, where she will be speaking on “Living well with myasthenia”. Keep an eye on our channels throughout the week as we share updates, highlights, and key takeaways from the event. #ABN2026 #Neurology #Research #HealthcareInnovation #myasthenia #MG #MAM2026 #LEMS #CMS #myastheniagravis #ocularmyasthenia

Don’t throw away your old stamps — turn them into donations for Myaware! We all receive letters, cards and parcels in the post, and most used stamps end up straight in the bin… but did you know they can actually help raise vital funds for MyAware? It’s simple: ✂️ Carefully cut your used stamps from envelopes 📦 Save them up in a small collection 📮 Post them to us when you have enough The stamps are then weighed, recycled, and turned into a donation that helps us continue our work in research, support and awareness for the myasthenia community. Why not get your: 🏢 workplace 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 friends & family 📬 neighbours involved too and collect even more! Send your stamps to: Myaware PO Box 16992 Sutton Coldfield B73 9YA For more information or to get involved in our recycling initiatives, email [email protected] Every stamp may seem small — but together they can make a big difference. #RecycleForMyaware #FundraiseFromHome #TeamMyaware
