✨ Designer Announcement ✨ Melbourne-based designer Jordy (they/them) sees fashion as a space for uninhibited expression. Through @mx_drummer , they explore queer maximalism as a form of wearable defiance — clothing that holds space for confidence, resistance and self-belief. Jordy’s design work reads as a retrospective of the queer experience, sitting in the tension between adversity and the relief of being fully, openly yourself. Bold silhouettes and deliberate excess become tools for visibility, embracing an aesthetic that is proactive, unapologetic and proudly queer. Mx Drummer isn’t about softening the message. It’s about taking up space, being seen, and dressing with intention. We love supporting brand new designers with their first show, which is why we were super excited to have @mx_drummer by Jordy @_candygoblin on the Queer By Design 2026 runway. Jordy’s work feels like a retrospective of the queer experience — held in that space between adversity and the quiet relief of finally being, openly and fully, yourself. Through bold silhouettes and deliberate excess, Mx Drummer turns fashion into visibility. Nothing is softened. Nothing is dialled down. It’s about taking up space, being seen, and dressing with intention — unapologetic and proudly queer.
