Item of the game @mnlynxstore featuring leaguewear™️ by @peaudeloup 💙 Shot by me in the home studio in RVA. Love my community, the opportunities I've had through my work, and how the two have intertwined two over the years. Y'all make it easy to show up. From production to post to distribution, every step of the way is made more meaningful knowing that the people I work with care about individuals like me, who don't fit in a box. It has almost started to feel like the world is catching on in recognizing that authenticity is something worth paying attention to. Or maybe I'm just hanging around some good ones 😏 🫶

When @ryr0ba reached out to me with interest in booking a photoshoot for their son, @naothekid as a HS graduation gift, Ryann mentioned how it was important to them to find a photographer who could match their son's artsy and eclectic style. I was honored to hear that my name had come up a lot when they asked for recommendations for a photographer in an RVA #Queer Parents FB page (thank you community)! When we went back and forth on what was important to Nao in this session, I knew that I wanted to take time to connect with Nao before we dove into action taking photos. Nao and I sipped on some lattes (they're my specialty) in my home studio, and talked to one another for a bit getting to know each another. I showed him photos of me in my early emo days from HS, we talked about empathy and fashion, and I found that we related to one another in some really beautiful ways. With this connection and trust priming the session, we went into taking photos. Nao and I were both so thrilled when we looked through the thumbnails of our photos on my camera screen as we took them - we knew we were capturing him in an authentic way, and that's something that takes skill, care, and empathy to achieve. I'm proud to say that that's the person I am. I care, a lot, and it's always most important to me that we capture photos that reflect your true self. Thank you to both @naothekid and @ryr0ba for giving me the opportunity to capture these photos, and to gain the connection to two amazing human beings out here in RVA. Lastly, use this as a reminder that photography can be more than a gift. It can be a moment to see your authentic self documented by someone who cares, a lot. #rvaphotographer #empatheticbadass #highschoolgraduate #styleweekly #rvamag #pridemonth #lgbtqiabusiness #rva #rvaartist

Get you a photographer who sees the real you. 📸✨ We’re turning the lens around today to celebrate the artist behind so much of our visual world: Our Photographer and Community Builder, @mx.bex ! For years, Bex has brought their incredible skills to the PDL universe. At the core of every shoot, their work is built entirely on genuine human connection. We sat down with them to talk about their craft, storytelling, and the magic of capturing this community. How would you describe your photography in three words? "Vibrant. Liberated. Alive." Has working with PDL changed the way you see photography or storytelling? "In every way. Technically, four years of shooting and retouching for PDL has sharpened my eye and my attention to detail; I see a massive evolution from my work then to now. From a storytelling perspective, it has reinforced that authenticity is the most important element of a photo." Can you share a moment on set that has stayed with you? "It’s not just one moment, but a recurring one: watching someone experience euphoria when they see their shots on the camera display. As someone who struggles with gender dysphoria, I know firsthand that feeling aligned with your reflection is nothing short of a miracle." When someone sees a PDL photo and feels like they see themselves—what does that mean to you? "Every time someone sees themselves in a PDL photo, it validates a lived experience that should have never been ignored. It’s my way of healing my inner kid while making sure the next generation never has to wonder if they belong." We are so lucky to have you capturing this community, Bex. 💛 Want to see exclusive features like this first? ✨ Subscribe to stay in the loup and join the proudly different league! It’s really wild and rewarding to see myself in the way I actually present now vs the pre transition image of myself that I often still see in my head. Thanks @mx.bex for capturing me as the guy I’ve been growing into the past 3 years. Wearing @peaudeloup 👕

I’ve built a life the younger version of me never knew was possible. A life filled with purpose and real connection. A life where I’m not just in community — I help create it. This trip with @peaudeloup felt like more than a getaway. It felt like a mirror held up to every version of me that got me here. And all I want to say to them is: Look at us now.
