“To The Ends” is my first feature film! A documentary shot for @nativemissions entirely on location in Bali and Lombok over the course of 18 days. Filmed on Sony Burano/FX3 + @atlaslensco Mercury A Series
Mwita and I meticulously referenced to build out a look that suited the story. Our subjects ventured from the ministry center at Promised Land in Denpasar into spiritually unknown places to offer medical care and share the love of Christ so we shot it with darkness in mind. There was also a sense of epicness that we wanted to capture, which the anamorphic format felt perfect for.
The Atlas Mercuries were great for glass on this project since they were fast, lightweight, and acceptably sharp wide open. Also those amber flares were perfect for our final scene which was hopeful, golden, and bright.
It was an honor to tell this story. Grateful for all involved.
It premieres in Charlottesville, VA 3/26 at the Paramount.

We had the pleasure of seeing the work of @nativemissions first hand. We are working on a longer doc following an Indonesian missionary as he works to help his community. In the mean time here is a new anthem highlighting their work around the world.
