Aries Colloquium! 🐏 The voices of the senior class were on display last night at the annual Aries Project Colloquium, during which the Class of 2026 presented their independent research capstone projects. Topics included small business leadership, hypersonic vehicles, canine cognition, Hamiltonian cycles, and more. Kudos to our seniors and their teacher, Mx. Patterson, as well as the dozens of faculty members who served as primary readers and community members who served as outside experts in the process.
The Aries Project is MVS’ signature capstone research experience, and it is undertaken by all seniors as a requirement to graduate. Through academic research and their own original fieldwork, students become resident experts for the question and topic(s) they have chosen. After completion of their final written report, they present their research to the community at the Aries Colloquium.

The first and third grade classes at MVS brought plenty of energy to the Stuart & Mimi Rose Theater with their mini-musical production of “Too Much Noise,” inspired by Ann McGovern’s picture book. The cast showed off all aspects of their performing arts training, from singing to dancing to instrumental accompaniment—swipe through for photos!

Art contest success! 🖼️ During the upper school Ocean Conservation Immersion, a group of students(Zoe ’28, William ’26, and Gerald ’27) created an art piece made from old textiles and recyclable materials. They called it the Artificial Ocean. The team entered their work into the 2026 Montgomery County Environmental Services Recycled Art Contest and won 2nd place! Congratulations!

Senior Parade! 🧑🎓 Last Friday, MVS seniors donned their caps and gowns for the first time as they walked the entirety of campus as part of the annual Senior Parade. Escorted by their first grade buddies, the Class of 2026 revisited the early childhood, lower, middle, and upper schools, cheered on by their teachers and fellow students. It was a great way to celebrate our senior class! ❤️💙❤️

The MVS spirit of student philanthropy was on full display last Friday, as upper school advisories teamed up to compete in the annual Charity Challenge! Team Purple (Bryant and El-Shedraway advisories) emerged victorious in events ranging from flag football to trivia and claimed the Charity Challenge prize for their chosen organization, SICSA. Congrats to all our Charity Challenge participants!
