Stephen Bulger Gallery presents a selection of works by Larry Fink in their Reading Room Gallery, in celebration of the exhibition of his work at The Image Centre, "Larry Fink: Social Graces & Runway". The grouping of works presented at Stephen Bulger are taken from the same two series of work. "Social Graces", his landmark 1979 series, which documented both elite Manhattan nightlife and rural life in Pennsylvania, was exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York that year. As his commercial career gained momentum in the 1980s and 1990s, Fink received a steady stream of commissions to photograph haute couture, star-studded events, and other topics related to America’s glitzy upper classes, culminating in the series "Runway". The photographs at @stephenbulgergallery are on view until May 30, 2026. Larry Fink, "Elton John's 60th Birthday Party, New York, NY, March 2007"

MUUS Collection is thrilled to expand its twentieth-century holdings with the acquisition of the Todd Webb archive. Todd Webb (1905-2000) was an American photographer whose photographs of postwar city life in New York and Paris serve as visual time capsules to bygone eras. In the 1950s, Webb was awarded two Guggenheim Fellowships, which allowed him to photograph the pioneer trails of early America settlers, as he walked from New York City to San Francisco. Up until the 1980s, Webb actively photographed, and his portraiture of artists and friends, including Berenice Abbott, Alfred Stieglitz, Dorothea Lange, and Georgia O’Keeffe remain indelible records of his time. Sophie Wright, Executive Director MUUS Collection: “Todd Webb was a key figure in New York’s post-Second World War photography scene. Friends with Alfred Stieglitz and his wife Georgia O’Keeffe (to whom he taught photography), he had his first solo exhibition at The Museum of the City of New York in 1946. From an earlier generation than our existing holdings, Webb’s archive deepens the story of American twentieth-century photography in the MUUS Collection.” In November, MUUS Collection will return as a partner to the Paris Photo fair with a presentation of works by Todd Webb and Eugene Atget, in an exhibition curated by David Campany, Creative Director of the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York.

From the archive: Almost ten years after RCA publicist Anne Fulchino first contracted Alfred Wertheimer to photograph Elvis Presley, she phoned up the photographer again to have him photograph Nina Simone. Employing his signature "available darkness" technique, Wertheimer captured the singer in uniquely intimate and vulnerable moments. Here, he photographs Simone getting ready for her January 1965 performance at Carnegie Hall. Alfred Wertheimer, "Nina Simone, New York, NY, January 15, 1965"

From the archive: The photographer Rosalind Fox Solomon kept journals her whole life. As an intrepid traveller, she documented all of her journeys and encounters both through writing and through photographs. In this 1991 journal entry, Solomon attaches a picture of herself used for a Chinese visa, and writes about the photography monographs she purchased later that day. See a selection of Solomon's ephemera and photographs this week at @aipadphoto in our exhibition "Rosalind Fox Solomon: What is Life?" from April 23-26. Rosalind Fox Solomon, "Visa Picture and Journal Entry, 1991"

Curator: Nathalie Herschdorfer. Utställningen är organiserad av Moderna Museet, producerad av Photo Elysée, Lausanne i samarbete med MUUS Collection, New York. Deborah Turbeville – photography as material and memory Opening Saturday 2 May, with a vernissage on Friday 1 May, we present two exhibitions by photographers Ikram Abdulkadir and Deborah Turbeville. Deborah Turbeville challenged and reshaped fashion photography, developing from the 1970s a deeply personal visual language marked by timelessness, melancholy, and patina. “Photocollage” traces her artistic exploration over four decades – from fashion photography to more personal and experimental works. It presents collages where the photograph forms part of a larger whole. By foregrounding material and process, the exhibition reveals a lesser-known aspect of her practice and offers a deeper understanding of her significance in the history of photography. Curator: Nathalie Herschdorfer. The exhibition is organised by Moderna Museet and produced by Photo Elysée, Lausanne, in collaboration with MUUS Collection, New York.
