The JHYO is honored to have been selected out of thousands of applicants to travel to New York and compete in the festival at the Jazz at Lincoln Center at the end of April. We are 38% to reaching our goal to bring Houston’s sound to the national stage! Every contribution—large or small—puts our students one step closer to the bandstand!
We’re still on a high from the Texas Regional Essentially Ellington! One of the highlights was having the amazing Sean Jones as our guest artist! Whether playing or speaking, he’s always teaching something important. Here he is describing to the students how Jazz embodies Democracy and how we can lean from it!
Nine years ago, this amazing, beautiful woman agreed to become my wife. She’s the most incredible partner, mother to our children and woman of god I could ever hope for, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us. Happy Anniversary my love!
