🌀🩷Refracted Mulching 🌀🩷 Join MUCK x FEMME for a workshop and publication launch This project proposes mulching as a metaphorical and methodological practice: a way of thinking with and through difficulty, rather than seeking resolution or coherence. Mulching offers a space for slow, unfinished attention. It invites participants to process without conclusion, allowing ideas to decompose as something not yet legible. In this writing workshop, we will explore mulching through poetics and provocations, collectively coming together. Dissent Rover / composing a poetics of dissent Friday 7th November, 6:30-8:30pm at GZL Pay-What-You-Can, book at glasgowzinelibrary.com What is dissent? What are poetics? In this pilot workshop, Dissent Rover invites attendees to rove these questions. We will shape something like a poetics of a dissent, something where we write a poem and reflect on it. We will look to the poems of Rafaat Alareer in convergence with the research of Dr Ian Gilchrist, regarding the thresholds of attention and knowledge creation. A working document will be shared beforehand to outline MUCK’s notion of poetics, including source materials from Alareer and Gilchrist. No prior writing experience necessary. Together, we’ll dive into the possibilities of posthumanist worldbuilding, composing speculative spaces that celebrate the unruly and the interconnected. You will create your own game-style alter ego playing card that harnesses your personalised strengths and creative strategies. Taking a multiplayer cooperative approach, we will explore games as strategy in a fight for a better world. You can expect to think about activism, care, posthumanism, multispecism, anti-capitalism, games, healing and empowerment. Participants are invited to create a playing card harnessing their personalised strengths and creative strategies in activist multispecies organisations. This workshop aims to empower the participants by using their imagination to create a card game-style alter ego in the fight for a better world. In addition, the workshop will lighten the sometimes heavy aspects of activism and resistance by using games as a strategy. We will derive from a multiplayer cooperative game style and evoke a feeling of optimism and community as it is all of us together against the capitalist game.
