archAIve has officially kicked off in Milan at MEET @meet.digitalculturecenter , great to to start this journey together with MEET (Italy), New Art Foundation (Spain), Museu Zer0 (Portugal), Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision (Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid) (Netherlands), and Public Art Lab (Germany).
Over the next 30 months, the project will explore how digital art, artificial intelligence, and cultural heritage intersect, developing new methods for documentation, archiving, and access. Through artistic production, research, and collaboration, archAIve addresses the challenges AI introduces to cultural archives while opening them up to new forms of use and engagement.
We’re looking forward to the collaborations ahead!

Museu Zer0 Begins a New Chapter with a New Board of Directors
Museu Zer0 announces that the Association’s new Board of Directors took office on March 23,
now chaired by Fátima Marques Pereira, alongside Vice-Chair Mónica Félix and Board Members Dália Paulo, Sónia Gemas Donário, and Madalena Duarte.
The new Board begins its term with a sense of responsibility and commitment, expressing its gratitude to the former President, Dr. João Vargues, for his dedication and contribution to the realization of the Museu Zer0 mission.
We are now entering a new cycle, focused on the future. A cycle that aims to consolidate the Museu Zer0 as a living, experimental, and open space, establishing itself as a digital art center committed to contemporary creation, artistic production, and the development of multidisciplinary projects. A place for exhibition, knowledge, and cultural mediation, where digital art plays a central role in fostering critical thinking and engaging with the present.
This path was already publicly announced at the II Opening Moment, on October 18, 2025, and will now be further developed with complete transparency.
The new Board of Directors adopts as a fundamental principle the clear sharing of its vision for the Museum, understanding it as a collective project in constant development.
In this sense, the Museu Zer0 is committed to promoting an open and inclusive process of actively listening to the local community. Through open house events, we aim to engage artists, cultural practitioners, institutions, researchers, academia, schools, business leaders, and public entities, recognizing that the Museum’s future is built on dialogue, diversity, and participation. We believe in a Museum rooted in the values of cultural democracy, humanism, and inclusion—a space where different voices find a place, where critical thinking is encouraged, and where contemporary artistic practice serves as a tool for reflection and transformation.

Trailer de um dos projetos mais amorosos e divertidos onde já tive o privilégio de participar: “O Segredo das Ervas Marinhas”, curta-metragem animada e pintada à mão por alunos e alunas do 7o e 8o ano do Agrupamento de Escolas de Castro Marim (os “meus” ninos e ninas!!) 🥹🌿
Desafiada pelo Plano Nacional das Artes a desenvolver um projeto no âmbito da Bienal Cultura Educação # 2, dedicada ao tema “E em Vez do Medo?”, propus o desenvolvimento de um projeto de cinema de animação inspirado pelo território que nos envolve: o Sapal de Castro Marim e Vila Real de Santo António, um ecossistema de enorme valor cultural e ambiental ✨
No atual contexto de crise climática, o ecossistema da Reserva Natural não só se revela um lugar essencial para a observação e estudo científico, mas também um berço de esperança (em particular devido ao cultivo de ervas marinhas, cuja capacidade de absorção de dióxido de carbono é vital para o combate às alterações climáticas), convidando-nos a repensar a relação entre o ser humano e a natureza.
E porque o cinema de animação é uma ferramenta de comunicação única, belíssima e transformadora, permitindo-nos explorar as nossas emoções mais profundas, sonhos e anseios, lançou-se o desafio: e se, em vez do medo, optássemos por conhecer melhor aquilo que nos rodeia, aprender em conjunto e transformar esse conhecimento em arte? Assim nasceu, passados 4 maravilhosos meses, a curta-metragem de animação “O Segredo das Ervas Marinhas” 💚🌿✨
Em março, o Jejum baixa ao Algarve para dois concertos à beira-mar 🌊
Apresentamos a prata da casa. João de Nóbrega Pupo conta com três obras publicadas pelo Colectivo Casa Amarela. A mais recente, editada em 2025, “Ao Ser Sereno”, explora a existência humana enquanto condição em permanente transformação - ser em fluxo. Pupo tem trabalhado na ativação de novas formas de escutar e de se relacionar com ambientes sonoros, nas interseções entre a produção académica e artística. O seu processo criativo combina composição, sonificação de dados e paisagens sonoras criadas a partir de gravações de campo.

In March, Jejum heads to the Algarve for two concerts by the sea 🌊
We present our home-grown talent. João de Nóbrega Pupo has three works published by Colectivo Casa Amarela. The most recent, released in 2025, ‘Ao Ser Sereno’, explores human existence as a condition in constant transformation - being in flux. Pupo has been working on activating new ways of listening and relating to sound environments, at the intersections between academic and artistic production. His creative process combines composition, data sonification and soundscapes created from field recordings.
The concerts take place at Rock da Baixamar, in Tavira.
