Absolutely stoked to be able to finally share this piece of work which we shot last December! A monumental production behemoth to cast the perfect candidate that met all the criteria and then pull this off for real! No chest shots. No retakes. 100% real. Elevated Documentary storytelling is one of my favourite genres to play in and this was a jol (once we knew it could be done). Mad props to the producers Colleen from Song, Chris, Tristan and Matt from Dare! Huge thanks to my man Paisley on the Lens! Epic work by Tim on the edit and online to bring it to life and the good people of Pressure Cooker for making it sound so grand! And of course the creative heroes at Song for letting me bring this to life.
Watching your kids grow up feels like watching the waves rush back into the sea after crashing on the shore. You can’t stop it happening but you can, for a few moments seem to hold the water back, just enough to savour it. Then the moment passes and it’s gone. I’m trying to hold onto that water as much as I can. #thesearethegoldenyears
Loved getting to bring this to life.

This wildling. We tell we got her from the top shelf of the Crazy Store. She might shave some years off our life but no doubt she’ll inject a lot more life into our years. She already has. Georgia James Murphy.
A little comparative look at the animatic we used in the treatment compared to the final export. I’m learning to commit to shots and not just hope to find it on the day (you can’t when you’ve got process trailers and locked off roads etc). Was nice to see this one stayed true to the original vision. Expertly lensed by @zennvanzyl_sasc , cut by @thabo._n and graded by @mishathecolourist .
