Zet twee bevlogen filmmakers en een dito publiek bij elkaar in onze zaal 1, en een Q+A die een minuut of 20 zou duren wordt al gauw een boeiend gesprek van meer dan een uur. Dat is precies wat er afgelopen zondag gebeurde, toen Muriel d'Ansembourg en Martin Koolhoven te gast waren om te praten over Muriel's fantastische speelfilmdebuut TRULY NAKED. De conversatie ging onder meer over improvisatie op de set, over het ontdekken en casten van professionele en niet-professionele acteurs, en over het regisseren van intieme scenes (al dan niet met octopus...). Must-see Truly Naked toch nog niet gezien? Geen punt — hij is nog volop te zien bij Cinecenter. Niet overslaan, gewoon gaan!

The discussion will take place immediately following the preview screening of the film 𝙏𝙍𝙐𝙇𝙔 𝙉𝘼𝙆𝙀𝘿 by 𝙈𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙡 𝙙’ 𝘼𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙜 in 𝙀𝙉𝙂𝙇𝙄𝙎𝙃. Philine Jansens will share her expertise on this essential profession, at the intersection of choreography, consent, and directing.

In her own words: "Currently, the manosphere is more relevant than ever. With TRULY NAKED, I offer a different perspective: a tender, nuanced, and deeply human portrait of a boy discovering true intimacy for the first time within this world and his testosterone-driven home base. Beneath the provocative surface of TRULY NAKED, I want to show the viewer something essential: a look at intimacy that appeals to both the senses and the intellect, with a boldness and depth that gets under your skin. Told from a female perspective (the writer, director, producers, and DoP are all women) with images that stay with you. In a time that calls for films daring to tackle complex themes with honesty and passion, TRULY NAKED delivers exactly that in my view: an uncompromising, topical, and urgent film that is surprisingly warm given the themes. And fortunately, there is room for laughter too!"
🎬The screening is on the 5th of May at 18.45. Don't be late, as we welcome you with the director, and then coming back to answer your questions. The film is in English with Dutch subs, the Q&A will be mainly with English, but questions in Dutch can be translated too.
