"Here She Comes"

“Here She Comes... (Miss Amphipolis)” is the title of a 1998 episode of Xena: Warrior Princess (Season 2, Episode 11).
The episode features porn performer and drag diva Karen Dior competing against Lucy Lawless as Xena in an ancient beauty pageant.
Its kiss scene marked the first time a nationally broadcast series depicted physical intimacy between a lead network star and a publicly HIV-positive actor. At a moment when stigma, fear of contagion, and the erasure of HIV-positive bodies from narratives of intimacy were pervasive, this scene offered a radical image of touch and desire.

"Trophy Girl" is an autobiographic rodeo that reframes sex work as a complex archive of labor and selfhood, challenging its reduction to a performance of endurance.
Through a parallel narrative of competitive western horse riding, the text interrogates notions of recognition and the ways certain forms of labor remain invisible.

"-" is a tribute to Heiner Carows feature film „Coming Out“ which premiere took place on the same evening as the fall of the Berlin Wall. The only queer visibility on the big screen during the GDR shown for the first time (in a cinema called „Kino International“) on the very same day the destruction of the Iron Curtain begun. The work examines the intertwined history of censorship in political systems and access to autonomous image production.
