It was a memorable Sunday, March 29 — the opening of The M‑Collection. What an amazing turnout, what a great atmosphere, and what a wonderful and diverse group of artworks. Murals Inc. is happy and grateful for the enthusiasm and trust that so many of you have shown in our organization. We hope to start new collaborations with many of you in the near future. We will do our best to sell more works, and we will also organize several events during the five months that the collection will remain on view. Rotterdam based wall painting agency @murals_inc organized Project M, an exhibition for @rotterdamartweek showing more than 85 artists from their roaster! I’m happy being one of the three artists having been invited to paint for the show, next to @janvanderploegstudio and @marijevermeulen .

It had been a nice trip to Rotterdam, cycling around town with a crappy folding bike I brought from Berlin, painting in the exhibition space and meeting @daanbotlek again.

A highlight of the exhibition The M-Collection @murals_inc is the inclusion of three large-scale, site-responsive murals, each created by a different artist with a distinct conceptual and stylistic approach. 🎨 Heb je iets met murals? Als liefhebber of professional? Dan mag je @murals_inc tijdens Rotterdam Art Week eigenlijk niet overslaan. Murals Inc. is een bureau voor hedendaagse muurschilderkunst, gevestigd in een architectenbureau met monumentale wanden. In deze bijzondere setting presenteren ze tentoonstellingen met mural-kunstenaars uit zowel het gevestigde kunstcircuit als de urbanscene. ✨️ Tijdens Rotterdam Art Week presenteren zij The M-Collection. Een grootschalige groepstentoonstelling met studiowerken van meer dan 85 muurschilders uit Nederland en daarbuiten. Samen laten zij zien hoe breed en veelzijdig hedendaagse muurschilderkunst kan zijn, van verschillende stijlen en achtergronden tot uiteenlopende manieren van werken. Een bijzonder onderdeel van de tentoonstelling zijn drie grootschalige, locatie-specifieke murals die speciaal voor de ruimte zijn gemaakt. In early January, the murals in the stairwells of the Langeveld Building at @erasmusuniversity , designed by @hadassah.emmerich was festively opened. About the mural Emmerich: “The title ‘Twisting Thriving Topographies’ refers to the rhythmic and organic movement in the murals, in which lines and motifs intertwine, twist up and down, and flow through the space. Each floor and stairwell forms, as it were, an island or energy field with its own character. ‘Twisting’ refers to the dynamics and circulation of forms, “Thriving” to growth, vitality and the lively character of the compositions. “Topographies” emphasizes the spatial structure, as if it were a landscape that can be explored both visually and conceptually. The work combines historical and cultural references, such as Art Deco and Indonesian batik, and invites an experience that is both monumental and intimate, carrying the viewer away with its rhythm and colour.” After its official opening, the mural will be part of EUR’s exceptional art collection. The production was handled by Murals Inc. Agency. The team, led by @jelmer.noordeman delivered an outstanding performance.
